Even better than the Stanley Intellilaser Pro
I'm really impressed with this little unit. It works superbly well. In fact, comparing it to my much more expensive Stanley Intellilaser Pro, this unit produces identical results but is actually considerably smaller and easier to use. The unit finds wall studs and live wires in exactly the same positions as the Stanley so I'm more than happy that it's accurate and reliable.Very happy!

Not reliable for AC detection
This scanner is not reliable if your main focus is finding AC on the wall.It only works on exposed cables or behind wood, also de sensitivity is really poor, goes from 0 to max in a matter os millimetres (when it works)when cables are Located inside brick wall or concrete ceiling it does not give any readings at all, even when positioned close to the socket it only detected when placed over the switch, which is kind of useless. The better I could get was reading cables using the metal detection mode, where it could find the wire, but only works if there is no other metal around the cables like nails, screws, metal frames and so on.Unfortunately I can't give in enough stars because it says it does detect live wire but is not reliable.

This is rather a LUCK METER.
Moved into a new house and had never done any sort of drilling and fixing stuff before. I wanted to get a good detector which I can rely on before drilling holes. Hopes were high, but this failed categorically. In so many months, it has never ever given me a single reliable reading. It atleast is consistent that way.It even fails to detect LIVE wires when I know the wire is running through. It can easily mislead people. People who make this should be jailed. What a waste. Not something I would expect to find on Amazon. One must be lucky enough to live on if they trusted this thing.

Pretty good
When looking for a stud finder on Amazon, it's pretty hard to work out which to buy when there are some very expensive top brand name ones out there that get poor reviews. As I had just put up a lot of plasterboard, it seemed like a good time to buy one of these and give it a test. All in all, it was pretty impressive and didn't have any trouble finding the studs under 12mm plasterboard, and seemed pretty good at finding live wires too. It's not perfect, but I'm not sure you could get a tool that is for a sensible price tag, and this is definitely a good tool to give more information before plunging in with the drill.

Found wood!
Some years back I had a recessed plasterboard wall done in my living room for a large tv & was time to update the technology. Though, the recent tv we wanted to buy had a tv bracket included & was positioned high up the tv. Whilst I did take a picture of the works done of the wall at the time, didn’t take the exact measurements of the frames that were installed, to provide additional support for the tv, apart from the studs. Bought this device worked great & in conjunction with the photos helped pinpointing the exact location of all the wood that we had installed besides the studs.Job done, though I can’t buy the tv we intended to due to its non-vesa type bracket.Living in a Victorian, stud walls are not the norm, this device did what we intended it for. Was our first, easy to set-up and did the job.

Fabulous - It does the job
Used on a stud wall to check where the plasterboard was attached to wooden frame and to ensure no plumbing pipes or electrical wires were there before hanging up a TV on the wall. Great product worked very well with exact accuracy.

A good product that seems to work
Accuracy is reasonable, tends to find things that are not there but does find battens. Instructions are ok but maybe open to interpretation. Generally a useful product.

Not totally confident that it detects everything
The important bit is to calibrate this unit for each scan you are doing (stud, pipe, electric).. pretty confident it got the studs right but less so about the water pipes
