Q: Are your cacao plants self fertilized? Is it possible to grow this plants indoors? (NYC: Zone 7b)

I did not have any luck with mine. It's dead or close to it. I live in zone 8 I brought mine indoors but that didn't help it. At this point I do not know what I did wrong or if it just will not grow in zone. Citrus is much easier to grow.

Q: Is it a good idea to put it in a bigger pot when you get it and what type of soil?

I repotted a few weeks after getting it. I used regular potting soil. Began growing like a weed soon after repotting.

Q: I'm from NH. So how would you go about growing it inside? How big do they get?

I've seen many of them in central America, they get 15-20 feet tall. I'm in south Louisiana, and have one in my greenhouse, in a pot. It's about 6' tall, but it's getting too cold for it, the leaves are starting to yellow, and we haven't had a freeze yet.

Q: Does this need another variety in order to pollinate successfully?

Well, according to every website I've researched it needs a second to pollinate. I wasn't aware of this when I ordered just the one. I've never seen it bud out or even attempt to grow cacao since I've had it, so I can say from experience. Basically a house plant that has done nothing.
