A Day of Threadplay with Libby Lehman

This is a must have for every quilter! I love Libby and her creative talent and love to watch her in action. She's so good to simplify even what seems so incredibly complicated. I'm a visual learner so I also purchased her book and DVD and I'm glad that I did. It helped me to accomplish 'Sheer Ribbon Illusion' on my first try. I make lap quilts with hand-warmer pockets for the local nursing homes with donated items and used this technique on an unfinished embroidered piece that was donated. It was okay.. wanted to see more of the bobbin adjustment for different types of threads that's why I purchase it in the first place. .

I watch it only once it is okay why? She did not put on "CC" It is Closed Caption for the deaf plus for hard of hearing to understand what she is saying. The DVD is not what I am wanted any how.

I was looking at several of Libby Lehman's videos and decided on this one. It is excellent with useful information. A great addition to my quilting library.

Ms. Lehman's presentation was encouraging for the novice "thread painter" as well as the more experienced. I've watched the DVD many times to refresh my skills. I was so pleased with the DVD that I also bought the book; it was equally helpful.I liked that she separated the various styles of thread painting into different lessons. The demonstrations were clear and very helpful. The close-ups gave me a better idea of how I could proceed with my own work.It is truly sad that Ms. Lehman has suffered a stroke. I hope she continues on her road to recovery. Her creaivity is a treasure.

First of all, I love the sound of Libby's voice! It is resonate and very pleasant to listen to. She explains everything so very clearly that it seems like it will be easy to duplicate the techniques when creating my own designs. Each subject flows very nicely into the next and I was very impressed with the camera work which allowed me to see exactly what she was doing on the sewing machine. I wish all instructive works were as well done as this one. This is a fantastic DVD! .

This DVD is a wonderful alternative to a class and the information and samples are presented in a very professional manner. Libby has such an easy style of presentation yet covers so much information. All of her sample work is easy to view. I took a class from her in Eureka, Montana which was fantastic and her style of presentation is much the same on the DVD. Threadplay is a wonderful way of sewing/quilting and it will add exciting aspects to your work. 5 stars +

Libby's book, Threadplay, is a great book on her machine embroidery techniques. But watching Libby stitching is the icing on the cake. She takes you through the process, explaining each step of the way. It's not as hard as it looks, it just takes practice. I'm glad I have the book because it goes into more depth about tools and materials used for her techniques. The detailed how-to-photos in the book reinforce what's in the video.
