Leaves metal looking very natural
I make sculptures out of recycled metal and am always looking for a protective clear coat that will leave a natural look after it is applied. I’ve used SprayMax2 many times, which is a great product, but it always leaves a glassy layer on your work. Shark Hide was easy to apply and really left my work looking much more natural after it was applied and had dried. It also doesn’t have to be used within 48 hours, which is a great money saver. Time will tell how well this holds up in a northern MN exterior climate, but so far I like what I see.

Awesome stuff
My uncle is a professional fabricator and has made some incredible stuff. He swears by this stuff for coating raw materials to protect them from further corrosion when wanting an uncoated look or preserving a desired level of patina. I wanted to use an original aluminum hard hat made in the 1950’s for work. I didn’t want the raw aluminum to get dirty or corrode after I bead blasted it so I used this. I’m extremely impressed with it. It’s expensive but protects and adheres to raw aluminum and steel very well. Allowing you to get that raw metal look, or preserve a level of patina without fear of it yellowing, flaking off or corroding. Will certainly buy again.

Amazing protective shine!!!
I highly recommend trying this stuff. We used some sharkhide to shine up my boat and it did a wonderful job. After a little cleaning and then applying this product to the hull of my boat , it practically never even needed cleaned anymore. No more dull aluminum or fiberglass even. I even used this to protect my boat trailer . Its truly a quality product. I purchased the aerosol can to do my boat trailer wheels as it is easier to spray those hard to reach areas. If you need to protect any metal at all and want it to have a beautiful shine give this a try. You will be impressed.

Expensive but good
Basically a clear lacquer. Used it to seal the exterior surface of raw aluminum motorcycle panniers. The trick to this stuff is to spray heavy enough for visible wetting, but not too heavy or it will run. If you spray too lightly, it will dry before it hits the surface and won't stick properly. Best to spray horizontal surfaces and spray it thick when possible. I used their wipe-on product on an aluminum ocean boat and there was no corrosion or tarnish after 2 years of use. The spray seems to be as good so far, but just really expensive.

Don't get the aerosol rub it on by hand!!!!
The product is great Ive used it before on my Pontoons Once I polish them with mother's aluminum and mag, it keeps them looking shiny for years. Last time I coated them was 5 years ago I hand rubbed it on it was perfect. This spray however comes out un even and leaves a textured cloudy look they are way duller than if I did it by hand. I thought maybe it was because I did it outside but my buddy just did his in a shop and it's the same problem. I would recommend getting the liquid and hand rubbing them. I just spent the last 3 weeks restoring my boat and I don't feel like stripping it and redoing them it's gonna look cloudy until next year. Do your self a favor and don't try the spray just do it by hand!!

Not sure If I did it wrong?
The media could not be loaded. I stripped to bare metal & polished a fuel door to a mirror finish with rubbing compounds & and everything. I washed with warm water & soap & wiped down with lacquer thinner & let dry, then it says to spray the first coat kind of light, then the 2nd coat more heavy. After all that, it’s kinda less shiny. Not sure if I did something wrong.
