Great quality, soft, cotton/acrylic blanket
Like other reviewers, I was hoping to replace a similar blanket that had more than earned its place in my Blanket Hall of Fame after years of use. Finally found this one and I'm thrilled with the 50% Cotton / 50% Acrylic blend. It's well-made, ultra soft with just the weight I was seeking for placement between a top sheet and quilt. It provides warmth without overheating. Very happy with this blanket!

Luxurious alternative to a weighted blanket
I've used the same cotton and acrylic blanket for many years and it is as functional today as new. This is identical to that one, down to the ribbed trim. It's a thicker blanket with some weight to it, always stays in place and the cotton content insures a non-sweat experience. It has a rich luxurious look and feel. I use it under a down comforter on the coldest winter nights and under a cotton tapestry bedspread in summer. I didn't think I could ever find another and am happy to have found this import from Portugal.

Very nice blanket but had difficulty with exchange
I own 2 of these blankets and LOVE them. They are very warm, hold up well and wash great. I keep one on our sofa and one in the car to use for sporting events when the weather is cold. Decided to order one at Christmas as a gift. Ordered the wrong color and contacted customer service regarding exchanging for a different color. They responded right away wanting to know which color I was interested in. After receiving my reply they told they would check to see if they had that color in stock and let me know. That was the last I have heard from them. As of January 7, 2014 I am still waiting for them to let me know. The person who received the gift got tired of waiting and decided to just keep the blanket even though it was not the desired color. They loved the blanket. If you can find it available at another vendor I would try ordering from them.

Blanket shrank on 2 sides - the other 2 sides are ok - now it looks bad and is wavy on 2 edges
I was really looking forward to getting this blanket because my sister has one and I love it. When I received it I put it on the bed and it looked great, even and smooth edges all the way around. I decided to wash it since its in the guest bedroom and I was expecting guests that would stay a while.I carefully followed the laundry directions (cold water gentle setting) and dried it on the lowest (delicate) heat setting. Just in case I took it out before it was totally dry (still a little damp) and laid it out on the bed to finish drying. I wanted to avoid any possible shrinkage.That was when I noticed the edging on 2 of the sides (on opposite sides from each other) were wavy and the edging seems to have shrunk and pulled the blanket material. The other 2 sides (opposite to each other) were perfectly straight and looked good like they should. How can 2 sides be OK and 2 sides shrink on the same blanket in the same wash? I can only conclude that it was made defective on the 2 sides where the edging shrank.Now I can't use the blanket by itself as a top blanket because the wavy edges look bad and it looks like a cheap blanket. I could have paid a lot less for a blanket with straight edges. For the premium price I paid for this blanket I should have gotten one that was better made and didn't have the shrinking edging problem.UPDATE:I contacted the seller (through Amazon) and they said they've never had a problem before and offered an undisclosed amount of partial refund but I have to download an unknown software program onto my computer to find out what that amount is. Really? - What ever happened to taking care of the customer? Sounds like they just want to make it difficult for me to get my money back.By the way I have submitted this review 5 times now and it never shows up. What's that all about?
