Arcane Artifacts and Curious Curios: 1000 Magical Artifacts for Game Masters

Brilliantly useful book. I bought this for my husband who has been playing D & D and DMing for 30 years. He loves the book and we used it last night to pick magical items as rewards at the end of a long campaign. The items listed are fabulously inventive. My friend who plays a wizard randomly picked a book that had a wizard’s soul trapped in it! We also like that you can role for condition of the item and if there are any side affects. Wonderful book. I’d buy another book by this author. If you can please someone that’s been playing so long and seen it all, to me that shows what a great book it is.

Well written, good layout, lots of original ideas, use it a lot for my campaign.

Each item is given an appearance, use and history description, and is one of the best organised books I have come across. This is an absolute essential book for Game Masters! I frequently use this book in my sessions and the history of the items allow you to consider possible quests and NPCs, let your imagination run wild!

if you can get this and any others from this writer, they are not only great books to use but they look and feel really nice too. Great purchase

This book is beautiful. I’m NOT a book person, reading the the Official D&D books is just not my idea of fun 😴 But this book! The illustrations are lovely, the items aren’t over explained, the items are weird/interesting/bizarre but also completely useful, and the cover has that really nice soft matte finish which is nice to hold 😂 . The author also adds a lovely way to use the book by rolling dice to generate random items. I loved this book so much I ordered the other two as well! Seriously, I’m not a book person.

This was a really well received gift for my son who loves playing D&D. He’s a dungeon master and so this book is great for coming up with some fresh ideas for game play. Really recommend if you want to gift someone who plays this type of game.

Oh wow this just fell through the letter box, it is fat! 400+ pages of wonderful items! Madeline’s books are a staple at my table and this one will be no exception. I now know exactly what the weird magical curio shop in my homebrew game is going to stock. Each item has a succinct description, enchantment, and history, in her own imaginative style. I think it’s print-on-demand but the quality is great, the book is much thicker than previous books but I’ve really abused the spine and it seems fine. If you DM or your a player looking for some good ideas this is worthy of you gold pieces.

I absolutely love this book! The amount of creativity is insane and has been incredibly helpful! So far, I’ve used it for writing a one-shot in a museum, to fill it with some amazing artifacts. Further, it is great inspiration for developing NPCs - as it’s super fun to build them around a certain magical item. Highly recommended!

I got this book sort of on a whim, and from some of the other reviews, and I AM SO HAPPY I DID!!! I got this book two days ago, and started digging into it, as I was going to be starting a new campaign as DM this week (Which I have now started). I found so many cool and inventive things in here, and couldn't wait to add them into my campaign. So last night, first night of our campaign, I had the players roll a d10, and didn't tell them why (The book has 10 chapters, and it was recommended by the author to do this to find a chapter to start with). Today, I took and rolled a d100 for each chapter, and then proceeded to determine the item that they "Might" find in the beginnings of the campaign. I plan on having them randomly roll d10's during later parts of the game to see what other objects they might find, if they're looking closely enough that is. I HIGHLY recommend this book to ANYONE who plays D&D, and possibly lots of other TTRPG's (I can't speak to them, as I don't play them). I read a few off to my wife, and even a few as an example off to the PC's, and everyone was EXTREMELY excited to try and incorporate these into our campaign, and I was only scratching the surface. Now, just for the sake of being 100% clear, there are 1000 items in this book, not all are "Useful" items. However the majority (probably well over 850) of them I have read through, are useful in any campaign. Some more than others, and some more to specific class's. Thank you to the author for publishing such a fun and interesting book. Also thanks for leaving a lot of the details up to the DM, so we can switch it up for each campaign.

perfect for all dm that want to add more stuff random in the game, some artefact are funny, other dangerous and some useless XD
