I love it already
I've only had this two days, but I've been playing with it to untie knots like it's a fidget toy while I'm on Zoom meetings and it works great with paracord & 1/4" cotton ropes I have sitting around.I love that the marlin spike locks, I love that it doubles as a pair of pliers. This'll be my daily-carry next camping trip instead of the Leatherman Skeletool -- no more using a screwdriver as marlin spike :)

Quality Tool
I was a little nervous buying this online without being able to feel the build quality. But fear not, this has a good solid feel. The knife is split, about 25% smooth, 75% serrated and makes quick work of cutting through line. The marlinspike is solid, though note it is curved. I found that useful but took some adjusting if you're used to a straight tool. The pliers seem adequate for most shackles. It also had a belt clip on the back, which wasn't pictured when i bought mine, though it can be removed if you don't like it. I think it's nice though and really don't use the case it come with, though that is quality as well.I race sailboats and am thinking of buying these for my crew.

Work knife
This guy was surprisingly good….. I work on the waterfront…… the pliers work really well. The Marlin Spike works in the knife is surprisingly sharp, even after being out in the saltwater….. It has gotten a little bit of rust on it, but not much after being out in the saltwater and in the rain every day.

Excellent deck tool for light duty
This multi tool is just what I need on deck. I have no regrets and feel it was priced reasonably. I’ve had it aboard my charter boat for about a year now and it gets lots of use. Definitely recommend.I have used the marlin spike on shackles of all sizes; it is perfectly suited for the job. The tip is quite sharp, but that has proven handy for extracting the core when starting a splice in double braid. It’s the best and strongest feature of the tool. The pliers are not great but I have used them a lot for light duty. I’d rather use these pliers than go below to fetch a better tool, and most of the time they get the job done. The knife is sharp and good. It’s a little short, so it usually takes several swipes to part a line but again - it gets the job done.Like all Meyerchin products I’ve tried so far, this tool is prone to corrosion. I religiously wash it with fresh water whenever I come out of the sea with it, but rust has nevertheless stiffened it significantly. The lanyard ring is completely frozen. When it comes time to retire this tool, I won’t buy another one. The knife and pliers are both too small and light duty to be my primary tools, so I have better ones in my ditty bag. The marlin spike is currently my primary one; it is excellent, but honestly I prefer a bespoke marlin spike with shackle key. It’s admittedly very convenient to have all 3 tools in one package, especially for going aloft.

surprisingly better than quality knockoff ive been using for years
i used what has turned out to be an identical function and form factor knockoff of this and when i needed another one they were unavailable so i went with this and thankful i did ... way tighter sturdier feel and a little heavier . . . old one was wiggly and loose and when using under harsh conditions was not confidence inspiring . . . this one is ... comes with nylon case and was approx 30 dollars, double cost of knockoff. .. money well spent esp if using regularly or want to last

The Next Generation of Rigging Knives
This multi-purpose tool is very nicely made and operates smoothly. Also appears very durable.I am buying one for each of our boats and making this my go-to gift for my boating buddies!

Rusts quickly!
The bail (the clip where you attach a lanyard) rusted through within 3 weeks and I almost lost the knife. When I complained, the seller told me contact the manufacturer. Yeah, for a $25 knife?I kept it. Then, the internal mechanism and blade started rusting after one year. Now, it is fixed blade knife. As long as you keep it away from salt air and salt water you may be OK... But, isn't this supposed to be Sailor's knife?
