Inspirational
This is probably my favorite Zentangle book of the 6 I purchased in the last 4 months. I like the pretty designs. I am enjoying keeping a Zentangle journal and getting in touch with my right brain. :o) It is fun! Even when I made a Zentangle card and the recipient said "what is it?" I was not discouraged. (She just did not have an appreciation for my newly found creative expression :o) Easy, portable, creative hobby! Have Zentangled in the rain and sun while camping, waiting for a funeral to begin, sitting in car waiting for daughter during dance lessons and piano lessons...just grab my little plastic box (ArtBin Magnetic Storage Case works for me...approx 7" x 9"...got it on sale for $10 at JoAnn's Crafts) filled with supplies and take it everywhere for those times there are a few minutes to relax. My 9 year old daughter loves it too! I made her a box for Valentines Day filled with supplies and even created a picture to go on the front of her box so we can distinguish hers and mine.

YIPPIE.....Another Winner!!
I received three Zentangle books from Amazon yesterday. Usually it takes me quite a while to offer a review after receiving a book. Not with the two Sandy offered. This and "Totally Tangled," are "Must Have's," whether you are new to tangles or are an experienced designer. It is a juicy adventure in Tangletown. Sandy provides a large variety (100ishka?)of tangles and ideas for their use in a wide variety of venues. Her guidance is impecable. You can't miss following her lead. it is a gentle exploration of the possibilities for you to ponder and execute wherever and whenever you wish. Slip it into your purse with a Micron pen and paper and you're set for an adventure in personal creativity. Enjoy the bounty. It's a wild ride to relaxation and contentment with a huge dose of fun. Very good things come in this little package!

Great for Zentangle skill building
I am new to Zentangle--I began with #3450 Zentangle Basics. I enjoyed it very much so purchased this book next. I love working through each page in the book. I purchased a plain journal and work on 1 or 2 pages at a time--I practice the skills presented in the book and then make some of my own Zentangles using the skills. It has a GREAT section on shading which I worked on for a few days with great results. It includes many different types tangles and exercises for changing them up and creating your own. The step by step approach is at just the right pace for me and has taught me to be more open and creative with my Zentangles.

I must have for Zentangle addicts!
Sandy's book is rich with wonderful tangles, easy to follow instructions as well as beautifully presented. She includes great examples of her own work and interesting ideas to inspire your own creations. I am a CZT and recommend this book to all of my students. For avid Zentanglers this is a must have! This book is a bit more advanced so for beginners I would say the "Totally Tangled" book is the place to start. That is also a fabulous book with lots of tangles and examples of where patterns come from and where to look. Sandy is not only a talented artist she is a fantastic author/teacher. Definitely buy this book!Wendy, Westford MA

Good book.
I have her first book, Totally Tangled, and this one follows in the same vein. There's a brief explanation of some of your basic components of a Zentangle, i.e. The string; auras; shading etc. As you make your way through the book, she gives step-out instructions for the tangles as well as an exercise or two meant to broaden your mind and spark your creativity. She also shows you how to look for your own designs in everyday things you see; that railing down the staircase, the patterns in the brick sidewalk. This is a good addition to any Zentangle library. I wouldn't say for a very beginner (for that, I recommend her first book, or One Zentangle A Day by Beach Krahula),but maybe someone who has some experience and is looking to continue learning more and expanding their creativity.

Another Amazing Zentangle resource
This book is not for beginners, though it does cover a few of the basics. But for those who have got the basics down and want to extend beyond the little tiles and add even more techniques (and, of course, new Tangles), this is the book you've been waiting for. It's thin, and I'll admit I was a bit stunned at how thin, but then I opened it up, and there's so much going on on each page! Techniques (the best discussion of shading I've seen), tangles, exercises, tips, you name it!It also discusses other uses of the tangle--such as basic printmaking, transfers, using them in journal pages, and of all the cool things, painting rocks!Did I mention there are more than 60 new tangles? There's an index at the back for them, too, which is such a handy feature. If you have her first book, you probably don't need to read this review to put this on your must-have list, but if you don't and you've been tangling for a while, you need this! And if you're just beginning, or need some inspiration at how amazing and dazzling they can be, you need this book! It will keep your mind and pen flying!

Yoga For The Brain
This book is just Ok. Maybe if it was my first Zentangle book I might have been more impressed. Also, I am more interested in the Official tangles. The thin little handout is packed with tangles but I don't find myself dwelling on any one page. I just keep picking it up and leafing through it hoping I will get something out of it. If I had picked it up in a store I would have leafed through it one time and put it back.If you know the Zentangle method, I would recommend Sandy's teeny tiny Alpha Tangle. If you are new, get One Zentangle A Day. My only complaint is no table of contents. Don't buy Yoga For The Brain. You can get plenty if ideas on Pinterest and everywhere on the web.
