Exact match for 2008 Tundra
I am not a mechanic but a handy sort. This is a relatively easy replacement. I suggest you jack the vehicle up and remove the wheels prior to replacing the shocks. This will allow maximal visualization. Prior to removal, note the position of the 2 upper rubber bumpers and the orientation. You will need to save these for the new shock. One goes above the mount, one below. These are not supplied with the new shock. A new lock nut is supplied - use it. Having had Volkswagons for years, I am familiar with Blistein which is a well known German company with quality engineering. I highly recommend this brand.

Big Improvement
Installed on 2012 Tundra Double Cab. Truck had stock shocks and the ride was bouncy. After installation, felt like a new truck, ride was very smooth. A must for Tundra. It did not come with the bushings, however, the stock ones fit on the new install. Came with a new nut. Took 30 mins to install.

This is what you want for towing, Bigger piston than 4600 series.Stout!
Big improvement over factory on my 1794 Tundra. I added Timbren bump stops (GREAT alternative to air bags) and then these. If you are pulling a travel trailer or flatbed, I recommend these. I pull a nose heavy 7200 lb. travel trailer, 1100 lb tounge weight, at limit for Tundra. These things are stout, but improved the ride, only slightly stiffer. Only disadvantage is you have to have a lift to get these on and loosen sway bar to get length. I feel more in control on highway bumps. I will add the front ones later, they actually raise the front end 1" to level the rake of the truck.

Great handling and ride.
You can't go wrong with Bilstein. Replaced the factory shocks that came with my Toyota TRD package with these and what a difference. Better ride with no loss in handling and control. Installation is really easy, hardest part is loosening the bolts, once that's done, simple swap out.

the rear felt like it "kicked" a bit more than I'd like
These were for my 18 Tundra to replace the oem TRD OR Bilstiens. From the start, I've always felt that the TRD "tuned" ones had a somewhat stout rebound...going over bumps, the rear felt like it "kicked" a bit more than I'd like.Going with these 5100, I the rebound is a bit more controlled, still a firm ride but the kick more subtle.I wouldn't say these are day and night differences, very subtle actually, but for the price and ease of install, worth it.

Great Price for a Great Shock
For the price you can't beat these shocks. I have them on my Tundra which has a constant load in the back of around 1000lbs. They work and they hold up.

Leaking / Warranty Non Existent
Leaking..., normal use, no off-roading or abuse. Bilstein will not warranty, telling me it is "sweating" and this is normal. advised me to clean it off.., I guess once it's empty of fluid it will stop sweating.I've wasted so much time with Bilstein's warranty department it's ridiculous..., I'll never buy one of their products again. Horrible company to deal with.

Get these! Much improved ride and handling
Had Toyota dealer install these on my 2010 Toyota Tundra Crewmax Limited Platinum pickup and man what a difference. The squat and dive under breaking and acceleration is gone. The excessive roll is gone. The ride is possibly more firm than stock, but the ride quality is good and very controlled. Love these. Totally changed the truck. The didn't turn the truck into a sport sedan, but they did move it in that direction.
