Definitive Guide to Salesforce DevOps
As a programmer who is interested in efficiency, (I use vim, tools, hotkeys, shortcuts, and scripts to speed up processes) DevOps has always appealed to me. I thought I was getting a good hold on it a few years ago when I was working to automate processes for a startup. But trying to apply the same principles to Salesforce comes off as a nightmare at first glance. It's really demonstrated by how much indepth knowledge you have to have of the platform in order to be able to do some of the most basic tasks. So when I attended Dreamforce in San Francisco and found this book I was pretty happy with the content inside. From perusing the other competing books on the subject, Mr.Davis clearly has the definitive guide on the subject along with a plethora of knowledge and experience only obtained from working experience in that field. It has a very healthy breakdown of the latest and greatest tools available to a Salesforce developer and best practices on how to approach the subject.I looked at several of the books regarding DevOps and definitely saw this one not only broke down those best practices, but the ideas, concepts, and the mindset you want to be in - in order to approach the problems using the Salesforce Platform creates.CI/CD, SFDX, modularization of your code, managing your orgs, working in scratch orgs, automation all of that is covered in here. The most surprising thing I think to me is how this niche book on a specific subject just due to Mr.Davis's writing also has filled in some of my knowledge gaps on how to think and approach other projects not related to Salesforce.

Fantastic Book
For someone new to the world of DevOps (like me), this book really lays out the benefits of using CI/CD within a Salesforce implementation. This complete guide has so much handy information, not only about the DevOps process, but general Salesforce tips for developers and admins alike. Also has really good references that will send you off down all kinds of rabbit holes. Definitely worth it.
