Worked great
Worked prefect as a replacement on my Roland TD-12 kit with a VH-11 (high hat).

Worked perfectly but it does not improve the hi-hat performance
Worked perfectly but it does not improve the hi-hat performance/response which you get with a Roland hi-hat pedal.

Good intermediate Tool in absence of a 2 Piece Hihat
Great Tool to have if you don't have a 2 Piece Hihat yet ! It's not perfect, but it's better than One Hihat Cymbal on a Pole.

Great Hi-hat controller at a great price!
Fantastic product - worth every penny. Definitive sound and "dead-on" accurate controller. I bought this for the Alesis Strike Pro kit, because their hi-hat controller leaves a lot to be desired. You simply cannot go wrong with this item. Their Customer Service is also spectacular.

I can't recommend this for use with the Alesis DM10
This little unit is simple, cheap, and it has a smooth, consistent response. I really like the concept, but try as I might, I never could get an Alesis DM10 dialed in where it was happy with this controller. It emits a range of values between 0 and 38, and that just isn't enough of a spread for use with a module that expects a range of 0 to 80 or so. I fooled with the calibration and trigger settings endlessly, and I never could get it dialed in satisfactorily. I'm giving it four stars anyway. If you find a module that likes to talk to this, it works quite well, and it's a nice little unit, and a great concept.

Works with Behringer XD80USB (with modifications)
I initially ordered this to see if it would work with my Behringer XD80USB drum kit. Out of the box it does not; but if you're willing to open it up and make some modifications, you can get it to work. You'll need a soldering iron and a 100k ohm slide potentiometer (35mm in length ... get the one with a slide arm... you'll have to dremel some of the slide arm off as it will be too long). The slide potentiometer inside this hi-hat controller is 20k ohms... the Behringer XD80USB requires a 100k ohm slide potentiometer for its hi-hat controller (35mm in total length). I ordered the slide potentiometer, and then I scraped off a bit of the track at the high end of the pot (when the hi-hats are open) so that it would force the circuit to open and cause the hi-hats to sound open. The one thing you do lose with this "hack" is the ability to "chik" the hi-hats... which I hardly ever do when playing, so no big loss for me.

Avoid... Avoid... Avoid...
I got this product 4 days ago and got rid of it 3 days ago... i used it with my roland td11 module and the deception began... control is lousy couldnt wait to get back to my roland pedal controller. I wonder how it got the positive reviews that made me buy it.

Only lasted 2 years
This was so great when I first bought it. Using my mapex hi-hat stand and a Roland CY-12C cymbal with this to create an awesome, more cost effective hi-hat. I was so happy. Alas, it was not meant to be. This trigger now works very intermittedly. Very aggravating to slightly open your hats during a groove and then they just stay open. UGH!!! I wouldn't recommend this product. I am now looking for another option so I can get rid of this thing.
