Perfect
Being stuck with a battery killing computer controlled alternator, with no fix without warranty concerns I decided to go this route to keep the battery topped off for long life and avoiding drive-ability problems. This along with an extension cable I can hook it up without raising the hood and normally fully charged within an hour. It gets a little warm but not hot like some others I've tried for this. Good job Yuasa.

Yuasa YUA3AMPCH ... Just As Worthwhile For The 2nd Purchase as the First (Time Around)
I just purchased a second unit after having purchased my first on 04-06-2021. Having routinely moved it between two cars since then, I can say that both batteries appear to be (outstandingly) healthy at eight years of age, each. Generally, eight begins to move well outside the window of normal life. So, it's clear to me these units pay for themselves nearly immediately. The price drop ($59 then to now, $42) made it a no-brainer for me to get a 2nd and stop shuffling the charger back and forth between cars.My first YUA3AMPCH (3A) Yuasa stay's connected to my 2007 Camry (69K actual miles in 2023). The Camry is infrequently run over long road trips and the car always starts "as new". The eight year old battery in that one reads 12.9v resting after a couple of weeks not charging. THAT is a healthy battery.A couple of other points about this unit I like:- Not pictured, the YUA3AMPCH came with a 3rd cable that can be attached to the battery (permanently) terminal to make "plugging in" fast and easy. I am not a huge fan of clamps.- It's small enough that it can be hidden in the spare tire well and carried for emergencies when on the road. Some years back, I installed a 400w power inverter in the car trunk for small power tools and a refrigerated cooler for long drives. This unit can be used to charge a spare battery without having to pop the hood.Of note: My first Yuasa was (and is) a YUA1AMPCH (1A trickle charger) purchased on 12-25-2019. Still fully functional, it helped my Mazda get fourteen (14) years life from the old Johnson Controls (Interstate) battery in it at the time. I'm currently using it to keep a spare battery in the garage charged for the coming winter months.Nose around the folks needing to keep their marine or motorcycle batteries charged. All the "old timers" use Yuasa's. There's a reason for that. They're good units and hold up over time.

Performance claims in product listing are not mentioned in the owner's manual
There is no mention of pulse charging or desulfation, or of a five stage charging program, in the specifications of the owner's manual. Also, there is no LED indication of any stage beyond trickle charging the battery once it is fully charged. Thus, any claims of this charger doing anything but normally charging a lead cell battery are unsubstantiated. This may only be an overpriced trickle charger...who knows?

It comes with the stock plug to make it easier to hook up.
The charger worked well, it got a bit warm but the next time I will get my laser temp. guage.
