Excellent product. I really thought I was going to ...
Excellent product. I really thought I was going to have to return a few silicone baking pans until I found the right ones for what I do--homemade sourdough that I let rise for two days in the same pan as I bake them in. I thought the silicone would not hold shape thus leading to non-well formed loaves. Well, I can say after much researching and study of designs, I took a chance and purchased the bread pans from Silicone Designs as my first choice. I have been exceedingly happy with the results. They hold their shape during the rising process, the baking is incredibly uniform and not over cooked on the outside, like with metal and glass baking ware, and most importantly for me, they are actually and truly NON-STICK! For years I have been looking for a true non-stick baking pan and I've tried everything from stoneware, glass, metal types including unfinished and "non-stick" coated, seasoning, no seasoning, etc. but nothing worked the way I wanted. That was until I purchased and used the Silicone Design pans. They really are great for the reasons I noted above. It is so nice always knowing that the loaf will just come right out with no resistance and that the outside of my bread loaves are perfectly browned; not over cooked whatsoever. Lastly, these pans are just fine at their rated temperatures and stay odor free, meaning they are not picking up food odors from my fermenting and baking--I've made six sourdough loaves so far including sourdough raisin bread. The key to these pans' success is their structural design. The reinforced sides and bottom are brilliant and work very well. I highly encourage others to give these a try. The set of two was a great deal as well. I'm very happy with these pans.

Wonderful silicone loaf pan!
I found the perfect bread pan for my 1 1/2 pound loaf of bread! I use the recipe for a 1 1/2 pound loaf and I use the dough setting on my breadmaker. Needs no grease/oil and it pops right out!

A SILICONE LOAF OAN THAT STANDS UP!
I have 4 of these loaf pans and I love them. I have a couple that are a few years old and still going strong. Unlike other silicone pans that are flimsy and deform or even worse collapse altogether, these pans have structure on the sides and they really hold their shape while baking. You don’t need to put them on a cookie sheet to keep from flopping. Loaves slide right out, even with my older pans. They make a fine sized loaf of bread whether it is a quick loaf or sandwich bread.Since these truly hold up to the test of time and with consistent use and you get two of them it really is a good value for the money. These red bread pans haven’t let me down!

Good value for a nonstick loaf pan
I waited for a while to leave a review so I had a chance to use this product several times and get a feel for the product. What I received is a set of two loaf pans as shown in the pictures. The product is made of silicone in order to make it flexible and to prevent bread from sticking. I have some old metal loaf pans and I was just getting tired of greasing them up every time I made bread which is why I purchased this product. I do have a breadmaker, but I got tired of the hole it leaves behind and the bread was usually too tall for my liking when I made sandwhiches. My impressions are as follows:1) When I first received the pair, there was some strong odor coming from them. I suspect it's from when they were produced, but washing them did not make them go away. I tossed in some dough and cooked with it anyway. I'm not quite sure if it affected the taste or if the smell was making me imagine an off flavor. However, the smell dies down (it was barely there the second time) and after having cooked with it several times, the smell seems to be gone. This may mean that after the initial wash, you might need to toss these in the oven empty.2) They do have stabilizers, but this is silicone, so do not expect it to be precisely rigid like a metal pan. There is a little give when dough expands, but it's not a large amount. Instead of smooth flat sides, it's more like slight curves. Also as noted in another review, you likely need two hands when putting this in the oven, but once the bread is baked, you could use one hand, but obviously, anything hot from the oven should be handled with two hands anyway.3) The dimensions I believe were answered in one of the Q&As for this product. However, that didn't really tell me how much dough I should pop in the mold. After some experimentation, I have found for me that a 1 pound loaf of dough (as kneaded by my breadmaker) is just the right amount. Having too much makes the bread balloon out of the mold and tries to push out on the sides a little more.4) The bottom has some strange groove pattern. The pattern I hear is supposed to make it easier to pop bread out. It's a silicone mold so the bread already pops out pretty easy since the mold is flexible, so I don't know if it was required. It does however, give the bottom crust a strange texture, but it doesn't affect the taste and after a few times, I'm used to it now.In summary, the product seems like a good deal once you get rid of the strong odor (the reason I deducted one star).

Silicone is way, way better to use than traditional metal pans
I had been using a silicone spatula and silicone spoon for 10+ years now and was very impressed with their quality and durability (even with really hot stuff), so I decided to try silicone bakeware (mostly for bread or meatloaf). Although the size is not the standard 9x5, it's close enough. The one thing I can tell you about silicone stuff is that it washes very, very easily (non stick) and always looks brand new. Admittedly, I have never burnt anything using silicone products nor have I tried to cut anything using silicone products (I imagine it would actually cut, unlike metal; I've never used anything sharper than a butter knife) however, for everyday use, I love it. Very easy to clean. Stays in "like new" condition. Durable. Non stick (yes, I will still sometimes use non stick spray with no problems). Not regretting for one second buying these.*Note: I gave this 5 stars on "Sturdiness", but make no mistake that these aren't "metal". You can kinda' bend/twist silicone even though it will go back to its original shape. And, I'm betting there's some type of "temperature restriction" (silicone is like a synthetic rubber, if you will), but I've never used silicone over 450F.
