Great for UK schooling
My boys Mum and I think these are great. He says they are “OK”. Give a bit a guidance / focus when homeschooling. My 9 year old will sit down and work through the books without too much moaning which is a big win. :-)

KS2 Science Practice Workbook
This practice book contains questions for every KS2 Science topic - Working Scientifically; Plants and Habitats; Animals, Including Humans; Evolution and Inheritance; States of Matter; Properties and Changes of Materials; Rocks and Earth and Space; Light; Forces and Magnets; Sound; Electricity. It's 84 pages long (without the pull out) and includes the Answers (thank goodness) and progress test charts - these are 12 pages that pull out from the centre of the book. I think it's best used in conjunction with the Study Book from Collins, as a lot of the information needed to answer the questions / challenges can be found there. That book also has a lot more colour in illustrations, diagrams and photographs - this one is black and white and is very much a workbook. I like that the questions in the book are split into three levels of increasing difficulty - Challenge 1,2 and 3, which will help give your child an idea of areas they need to work on. It's good that the answers are included because I think (as a parent) I sometimes struggle to give the answer that the book requires. My least favourite question is on page 35, Evidence for Evolution, Challenge 3, part b) asks what differences can you see between a photograph of a fossil of an Archaeopteryx and a picture of a skeleton of a modern bird. Unfortunately the photographs are quite small, and in the case of the fossil it's a little bit difficult to work out which bit belongs where - so it's very difficult to compare the two. (It is possible to look at images of Archaeopteryx online and be able to see much more clearly the physical differences - the image used in the book is one of the first to come up on a search). I think in this case someone should have looked at the photographs and realised that they weren't that clear. But this is one niggle in a book that overall I think is very good and will be useful for any child wanting to boost their science learning at home.
