Totally believeable and well-paced.
This tense, passionate, driven, thriller is an excellent introduction to the oeuvre of contemporary French crime drama. It is well acted, of course, due to the undeniable talents of Vincent Lindon and Diane Kruger. As a result, the viewer identifies completely with both of their characters, which is essential, as you would not care about the film otherwise. Totally believeable and well-paced.

Excellent!
Taut and intense throughout. Intricate subplots ties together nicely. Well thought out plotting. I liked it better than it's American successor, Next Three Days.

excellent jeu des acteurs
le scenario est fascinant comment faire évader une personne et surtout comment organiser leur fuite et le point d'orgue est la fuite en covoiturage qui permet de passer les barrages de police

Comparing Pour Elle with The Next Three Days
I had planned to compare the two films when I learned that The Next Three Days was a remake of Pour Elle. I agree with reviewers Grady Harp and Tsuyoshi. I have watched a good number of French films in the past but none recently. If I had to pick a winner between these two films I would go with Pour Elle. The production values are better in the American film, which I saw in blu-ray. Russell Crowe is one of my favorite actors and Paul Haggis is an outstanding director. For me, the American film was too slick. The French leads in Pour Elle don't look like superstars, but more like the average person you see on the street. I am inclined to look for foreign films in the languages I am familiar with (Spanish, French and German), but will continue watching American films.
