Way cheaper to buy one that is refurbished than to pay full price.
We use these for work all the time and they are a great deal when you buy them refurbished. They handle large sums of checks and are easy to operate and install the software.

Does not work with OTCnet
Terrible product where you have to uninstall then reinstall the scanner every time you deposit checks. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Waste of money and of time!

flawed design
one of the front pieces called the 'feeder extension' and is suppose to go into a slot in the machine does not fit, because it is too thick. I compared the design from our other Panini this was to replace and you can tell the piece was constructed with too much thickness. So we had to steal this part from other other Panini to make it work.

Panini don't fit
None of the sandwiches we tried fit in the opening. Would not recommend.

Failed after 3 months
We had a Panini for many years and were forced to replace it due to no longer being supported by our bank. We got a new Panini Vision X Small Document Scanner - Model VX 1F-IJ; it started giving up problems after a few weeks (not reading checks or putting so many black marks on image, we could not deposit the checks) it steadily got worse; we got the cleaning sheets and were told to clean weekly. It did not help. Even after cleaning, it fails. Since it is after 90 days, we cannot return it. Wasted $515.00. Northstar refuses to allow us to return it.

it jams the check too frequently
got this machine from my bank. It is a real pain to use it. More than not check gets jammed in the feeder, and it is really difficult to get the check out. waste of time. It is much easier to goto nearest ATM, and deposit the checks.
