Berghaus Mens Seral Hydroloft Lightweight Packable Insulated Jacket

Please note I purchased this sub £70, so my point of view would be different for those investing £20-£30 more. At the time of writing this review the price is over £100.The jacket is lightweight and fits easy into a rucksack (20L+). It is very warm and comfortable and even ends up being a cause of sweating more if you get active!It fits well, altough i would say it is slightly on the longer side for a insulated jacket, so hangs down a little more than other brands/models.I havent worn this is extreme cold, but at a standard -5 degree it has been brilliant.Yes, would recommend if you can get it sub £80.

Ordered the large at first, since everything I wear is usually between medium and large (UA, Adidas, etc) but the large was way too small on me. I do a lot of rowing and my back and shoulders are broad in comparison to the rest of me, so this likely factored in. Sent it back and got a XL, which was then slightly too big, lol, but this is a me problem, as opposed to a product problem.The jacket itself is warm, stylish and well made. Have been wearing it since December and it definitely keeps me warm on my treks through the Scottish hills (D&G) the first Berghaus product I’ve owned but certainly won’t be the last.

Light weight, warm and comfy . Bought to fit over a fleece and under a waterproof coat for walking .The jacket arrived earlier than expected which was an added bonus .Good price compared to that in outdoor stores .

I have a couple of other insulated down jackets which are lighter (which I like) due to them being down but its not an heavy jacket just heavier than downI chose the Berghaus as it is easier maintenance with qualities similar to down , the fit is flattering for an average build but beware it is a little tight under the arms probably not suited to thick jumpers as there is no room for bunching under the arms, If you are between sizes pick the larger as I mentioned it is a close fit (I think the sizing chart is correct so check it with a tape measure if you are unsure). I personally wanted the Seral as it dosn't have an hood and is more suited to a work environment or even the pub, interestingly the hooded Vaskye version was available cheaper, I love insulated jackets as they allow you to wear summer type clothing underneath due to the warmth and are still light in weight, but do remember they are shower proof at the best , but this model does hold in the heat even if wet as opposed to Down which is little use when wetI read where a customer bought a Rab Down jacket which I also looked at and had issues with down feathers sticking to his jumper this reminded me that my Jack Wolfskin does the same it pulls the feathers out of the jacket into jumpers and the velour cloth car seats which makes a real mess in both in the winter although I have not had problems with fleece mid layersI like Berghaus and the fit has they are good quality and value for money

The berghaus description is spot on, this is a very lightweight, very warm and really windproof jacket. Wore it with only a t shirt under it during recent storms with very high gales and it kept the wind out. XXL true to size. The fit is closer to keep you snug, but not tight fitting. Arms are not as long as the berghaus fleeces, but are a nice length with a gentle elastic cuff and there is plenty of shoulder and chest room. there could be more room round the middle, but thats my fault, not the jackets. If you want a really warm, snug, really windproof, really light jacket, try this one.

You definitely get what you pay for. I ordered this £120 Berghaus and a £60 Columbia puffer jacket, with the intention of returning the Berghaus if it wasn’t worth the extra £60. I shouldn’t have worried, all my Berghaus products, waterproof jacket, trousers, walking shoes, half zip fleeces etc are top quality and this puffer jacket is premium quality from the initial touch and feel, to the actual fit. I would give it 10 stars if I could. Only improvement would be an internal zip pocket for wallet or phone, as others have mentioned. Reason for purchase was that we are spending more time eating outdoors nowadays and this is better than a fleece top, without the awkwardness of eating wearing a coat. Perfect. Large is perfect size to fit 42” chest.

Well made, lightweight and very warm. Unfortunately I had to return it because it was too warm !However, that is just a personal preference. If the jacket suits, you will not be disappointed.

Not great value for money

i managed to grab this at 86 euro, and i can say it is worth every penny. Super light and super warm. Wore it today infact where i live in Austria, with a t shirt and a fleece underneath in minus 10, and was honestly too hot !!!

Estoy enamorado de esta chaqueta. Es muy caliente a la vez que muy ligera. Estéticamente queda muy bien , ya que queda ajustada como si fuera un chaleco. Es transpirable y se puede mojar. El único punto negativo es que no tiene capucha. De ahí una estrella menos.
