Not perfect, close enough
Ok, it's a little flimsy, but I'm not gonna be flipping steaks with this thing. Some reported issues of melting, but they clearly have no business handling cooking utensils. Don't leave it in the pan, and don't have your pan too hot, no problem. I made eggs to try it out, it did fine. I'd like if they made a metal version, but I can't find one, so this will have to do. The only other option seems to be the GSI, but the reviews scared me away from that one. It's light, it's small, it works. 4 stars seems fair. I will update if I have any problems, but I anticipate none.I am using this along with the alpine stainless fry pan, which it fits in the bottom of for storage.

This is a huge waste of money
The spatula was not useful at all while camping. Its made out of light, plastic material that is VERY flexible. It could not lift a burger patty without bending and dropping the burger. We also made some eggs with cheese that needed to be scraped off the side, and that went very poorly. We ended up throwing this in the trash after the second meal because it was a pain to clean outdoors and just couldn't hold food. I'd go with a metal collapsible in the future, which I really wish we had brung on that trip.

Small, cheap, functional!
Pros,Weighs little to nothingCheapFunctional (well suited for eggs)Cons, flimsy (don't try to flip a steak with it)Works very well for light/smaller foods. Good for eggs, toast, small to medium pancakes, etc. Just don't overload it because it won't bear a heavy weight. I bought this for the camp-set5/5

careful - it will melt
Works great as a lightweight folding spatula - at least at moderate temps. It's easy to exceed "moderate" temps when using lightweight cookware over a fire-spitting camp stove, though. When your pan is too hot, this spatula will melt as you slide it across the pan and leave melted goo stuck there for you to scrape and polish off. You'll only make that mistake once, then be much more cautious about how hot your pan gets before this spatula comes near it.

Nice compact spatula, but the edge melts
Spatula is flimsy, but functions okay for light duty and packs small. It locks into place pretty easily, but then folds with any bit of squeezing the handle locking mechanism. Worked fine flipping pancakes in the field. Then the edge melted while flipping burgers. Would not recommend for that use. So it's both good and bad, but i would buy something more sturdy next time.

Works great if you don't need it to be around heat.
I love how small and compact this spatula is...but....I was making pancakes on a. griddle while camping, and this spatula melted the first time I tried to flip one of the pancakes over. It had barely touched the surface.I switched to a non-camping spatula for the rest, and that worked fine. If they made it out of an actual heat resistant material (like most cooking utensils are) I would get again. But presently...just not a great product.

small and compact
It seems very flimsy, but it works fantastic in an old style mess kit. In our Scout troop, the leaders cook food as a group, and the Scouts cook their food as a group. I like my mess kit vs Patrol cooking. I can usually cook, eat, and clean up well before either group finishes cooking. Realistically you could use a fork instead of this, but all the Scouts like looking and seeing new interesting gear. This is a little smaller than a normal spatula, and certainly less weight. I am sure the Scouts are now wanting to upgrade their Patrol Box spatulas to these.

Cheap and flimsy, but lightweight and compact.
The spatula is extremely light weight and easy to clean. However, it is very cheaply main. It is so flimsly that it can't hold a pancake with out having spatula droop. Also, the tip of the spatula has signs of melting after only one use. And for those wondering if I used it incorrectly, all I did was use it to flip bacon and eggs and I never left the spatula in the pan. Usually MSR is on point, but this time they failed me.

good cooking tool for camping and backpacking
This spatula folds in half, is very lightweight so it's great for ultra light backpacking. The handle is a bit short, but that's the price you pay for choosing something this lightweight and quite affordable/cheap
