If you ever wanted to feel like your medical trauma or weirdness was normal...
I loved this when it was a web comic and couldn't contain myself when I found out it was being published with extra stories. This author has simultaneously taught my child about anatomy through his card name (not this product), made me laugh as I go through the terrible process of getting an autoimmune problem diagnosed (ugh), started an inside joke between my best friend and I (she also has a story...), and just generally made me find the humor in all of the weird stuff that can happen to our bodies. His Heart and Brain series is great, but if you want the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth: buy this one and see the humor in real stories of medical maladies.

A Fun Read!
Oh my gosh! These medical tales are hilarious. The stories themselves are, just as the subtitle says, ‘fascinating and bizarre’, but the comics that go with them are so clever and bring such a humorous bent to the stories that I was often laughing out loud. There are a couple heartwarming stories as well. Anyone in the medical field would love this book!Reading this was a perfect and needed lift during this time of quarantining, social distancing, and sheltering in place!

Anyone else have trouble coming up with review titles?
Always love hearing the crazy/unusual/weird/shocking stories from the medical profession.Every time you think you've heard it all, another one comes up that tops the others. (S*x sent me to the er , untold stories of the er were favorites of mom and me..we'd always be yelling at the screen some time during each episode).Don't really have a favorite, they were all pretty good and interesting/amusing.One was super relatable to my mental monsters.Bless the medical profession, sometimes I don't know how they keep poker faces (if they were able to...mine would give me away quickly) and put up with some of the things you hear about. The artwork was nice and the comics had a good flow that kept me turning the pages. This is another one that has helped me through a tough week.Would recommend:)

Love the comics, the book is hilarious
I bought this during the COVID19 outbreak to do 'dramatic' video readings to our A&PII class. Love the comics, great stories. Overall really happy with it.

Hilarious illustrated stories about how weird the human body can be
For those who pick this book up expecting another collection of "Heart and Brain" comics -- this is NOT a collection of the misadventures of Heart and Brain. Instead this is an anthology of weird medical stories, all illustrated by Nick Seluk, the mastermind behind "Awkward Yeti" and "Heart and Brain." Some may find this disappointing after enjoying the "Heart and Brain," comics... but as someone with medical professionals in my family and who hears my share of wacky medical stories, it was hilarious, and the illustrations helped add to the humor.Nick Seluk has collected a variety of medical stories, and illustrated them in his usual style of weirdly adorable anthropomorphic organs and body parts. In this collection you'll find the title story of a tragic breakup between a man and his colon, a woman almost killed by her own spine, a foot X-ray that has the X-ray technician dragging everyone in the hospital over to see what's going on, deadly pancakes, idiots with lawnmowers, surprisingly beneficial lightning strikes, a woman whose internal organs are described as "weird" by her own doctor, a shark that bites a man in the most painfully humiliating place possible, and a fellow's cure for diarrhea that turns out to be worse than the disease... and a cure for THAT cure that's even WORSE.Many of these stories had the potential to be gross -- and indeed, there's blood and vomit (albeit cartoonishly depicted) to be seen. But the art style is just so cutely done that it's hard to be squicked out by it. It's a lot easier to look at a picture of a spleen or a kidney if it's hand-drawn and has a cute face drawn on it, I suppose. It also helps that the various storytellers don't dwell on gratuitous details, and that the stories within are more amusing than intense and scary. And honestly, our bodies ARE weird, and we do weird stuff to them, so there's really quite a lot of humor to be had out of them. While a step outside of Nick's usual work, "How I Broke Up With My Colon" is still a hilarious read, especially if you or someone you know is in the medical field. A few of the jokes might not make sense if you're not already familiar with "Heart and Brain," but for the most part anyone who appreciates medical humor or just knows how bizarre the human body can be will get a kick out of this. Warning -- despite being cartoony, there IS some blood in this book, so know that before you go in.

The Awkward Yeti is my favorite
The Awkward Yeti is not only an online comic strip I follow, but also a comic strip that the majority of my social media friends also follow. Scarcely a day goes by where I don’t see Heart and Brain being shared, and I loved all three of the previous books.HOW I BROKE UP WITH MY COLON surprised me, as I didn’t know I could possibly like this new collection more than all previous. It took a great and already well appreciated format and, using it to tell the real life stories, made it even more connectable than ever before. Personally, “The Scar” hit home because I was there just a few years ago.If you are already a fan, pick it up. If you know someone going through a medical situation that needs some cheering, pick it up. If you enjoy laughing but have never seen anything of these comics before...pick it up and know that you will find yourself looking at all the back comics online after you have read it.

Divertido e ingenioso.

Molto carino
Tornano i protagonisti della serie di Heart and Brain per raccontare alcune esperienze di malattia riferite all'autore da persone di tutto il mondo. È molto carino, anche se non è paragonabile ai fumetti della serie "originale". Se siete fan, come me, prendetelo!
