High quality, extremely accurate, nice case, definitely recommended! I've bought 3!
This is my 3rd CDI torque wrench that I've purchased from Amazon. This was bought to complete my set as I already owned the 1/2 and 3/8 sizes. I believe the heads are the only difference between these and the Snap on version. While I love snap on and have used snap on extensively along with craftsman and occasionally some husky brand stuff, these are absolutely amazing quality and accuracy for the price. I've recently installed a new clutch, brakes, rotated tires, and used this 1/4 size for torqing a slave cylinder to a transmission and some motorcycle and dirt bike maintenance. All torque wrenches have held up awesome and stay in calibration very well providing you zero them out when done, keep them clean, and store them carefully in their cases. I love that they come with a protective case and a certificate of calibration. If you like high quality tools and don't want to pay snap on prices definitely buy CDI. I haven't had any issues in 2-3 years, so that says a lot considering how much they are used. Plus, if they ever need recalibration I can mail them to CDI in Southern California for a reasonable cost. Others have mentioned that warranty is not effective if purchased through Amazon. I can't comment on that as I've never had a problem. Quality is hard to find these days, CDI definitely takes pride in their products and it shows with accuracy and durability!

Great Tool
I own several CDI torque wrenches, this is why: First, they look good -- chrome plating with laser etched markings makes a tool that looks great and will be easy to clean. I know its just a tool, but having a tool that looks good in your hand is more fun to use. The micrometer adjustment is in 10's around the dial so there is no adding or guessing what your setting is. I have used others in 15 lb graduations and this tool removes the fuss. Simply pull back on the spring loaded sleeve and rotate the main body to make adjustments. Let go and it locks right in. Others I have used have a locking dial on the handle end which can become loose and you lose your setting. The handle is just the right length. CDI has excellent customer support. I contacted them prior to ordering and a tech spent plenty of time explaining the specifics of their wrenches. I called the tech for an explanation on accuracy ratings. This wrench is accurate within +/- 4% from 20% to 100% of full scale -- my certificate of calibration states values much lower than this (from .5 - 2.5%). 20% to 100% is industry standard though some torque wrench's will be accurate to +/- 3%. In this case 20% of 150 in/lb is 30 in/lb. So this tool will be increasingly less accurate the farther below 30 in/lb you go. This is due to lack of compression on the spring in the lower range. Really this wrench should be labeled as a 30 - 150 in/lb wrench, corresponding to the included certificate of calibration (meaning: my cert. of calibration labels this wrench as 30 - 150 ft/lb). Just know that with ANY spring type click wrench the low capability should be 20% of max even if dial will indicate a lower setting.

I would definitely recommend this 1/4 inch torque wrench
I would definitely recommend this 1/4 inch torque wrench. I bought it for screwing my front strut tower brace nuts with specified torque value. I took it out of the case, pulled the knurled dial and rotated the handle to the lowest level then to the specified torque setting. I began screwing the nut with this torque wrench with less speed as it approached the preset torque range. I finally felt a sudden and abrupt movement of the neck of this torque wrench with subtle 'click'. I felt it reached the preset torque. Then I began screwing another nut the same way to hear subtle 'click' and noticeable sudden and abrupt movement of the neck of the wrench. I did crewing 4 nuts and unscrewed them with ANOTHER simple (not torque adjustable) 1/4 wrench. Before re-screwing them, I screwed them with the NON-TORQUE ADJUSTABLE wrench until I felt slight resistance. Then I made recalibration of this torque wrench by bringing it down to the lowest torque level and adjusting to a specific torque value. Then I screwed all of 4 nuts again with noticeable 'click'. 1) Every torque wrench manufacturers recommend you to bring it to the lowest torque level while storing and before use. 2) It seems wise to fasten the nut with decremental speed as you feel more resistance screwing it. 3) Slow and smooth movement would be necessary to realize a sudden movement of neck and/or slicking sound. ( I felt the clicking sound was not so loud.) 4) The knurled handle rotates smoothly and it was easy to fix it to a specific torque level. I appreciate the quality of this torque wrench. 5) You should have another NON-TORQUE ADJUSTABLE wrench to loosen a bolt or a nut. They say loosening a bolt with this torque adjustable wrench may ruin the internal mechanism and bring it to inaccuracy. 6) I still hope that the price would be lowered for more popular use.

Small, fits in tight places, nice distinct click, reversible ratchet, works as it should. Only complaint is I need my glasses to read the setting.

Really nice torque wrench. Short enough to fit into tight places. Very precise, company says accurate to +/- 4%, but the calibration certificate that came with mine was within +/- 1.5%. Only thing I didn't like was the switch on the ratchet doesn't have a positive detent, it's very easy to switch it when working in a tight spot, not worth removing a star though.

works great and the larger range is just what i needed. saves me from carrying 2 torque wrenches in my service kit.
