These cameras are great for the price. I replaced my brand new Night Owl cameras that came with the DVR kit I bought after Thanksgiving. Color quality is better, wider viewing angle, better night vision coverage and clearer image, what is there not to like? For an inexpensive system that is not the latest whiz bang new device, these perform very well. I still have 3 remaining Night Owl cameras that are functional, but have no intention on using them. Great delivery with Amazon and easy install. I am no camera expert and this is my first install of one of these DVR units with cameras, it was easy to figure out how to hook them up, (thanks YouTube). Just be sure that any camera you buy is for the correct DVR system, as I tried to replace the first defective original manufacturer camera with one purchased at the local Best Buy store, but they were for HD DVR's only. Thankfully Amazon had these online for 1/2 the price of the OEM equipment and it is ten times better for my application.

This is a pretty cheap camera. I was going to put out a dummy but found this inexpensive camera and figured I'd give it a shot. I have the camera under my soffet where it is protected from the rain, and heat from the sun.It has great daytime clarity! And the night vision turns night into day. Although the night vision is in gray scale, it is way better than I expected. I must say though that I have a street light at the end of my driveway, so it's not the ir leds that are providing the light ... they don't go as far. But the low light sensitivity of the camera was a delightful surprise.I can see things at night beyond my natural vision ... see in the dark, all the way across the street. Very happy. I wanted to have a longer range lens though, so I bought one on Amazon, but the original lens was glued in. So I emailed support to see if they had a camera with a 16mm lens, sadly they didn't and don't sell a camera that has a replaceable lens.

The original DVR system we received would restart frequently and after talking to customer service they replaced it. The replacement DVR system has been working fine. There was zero hassle, their rep Slina was in contact with us through the entire process and made it right. Well done Slina and the rest of your customer service team.Besides that (sometimes things happen) the cameras have been worth their money. They work as you expect, the night vision is pretty good(better than expected), the DVR user interface is basic, not fancy but it works fine.The ability to look at 16 cameras, day or night, will put you at ease. If you hear something in the middle of the night, its a fast way to see everything from the safety of your screen. I really do rely on that ability.Wiring 16 cameras can be a challenge, especially when some are 150ft long. Go slow, have patience. We ordered one extra set of x4, 150ft cable , it also comes with x4 100ft cable and x12 60ft cable (for 16 cameras). There are x4 connectors for joining cables to make them longer. That was the right amount of cable for us with a quarter acre of land (couple cabins in a rural area).I would buy this again, even with exchanging the DVR.

i have been using this security camera system for 2 years. recently it has randomly stopped recording. i have tried to get help from customer support but get no reply. buy at your own risk.

Works absolutely fine

Been using these for several years now and love them!! Works great and easy to look at the videos. Even though it is wired it wasn't that much trouble to run.

The video quality is not great. At least it gives you some 1990s nostalgia, since it looks like VHS quality. Don't get me wrong, the Night Owl stock cameras aren't going to be featured on CSI for their video quality either, but, you can definitely tell the difference.
