Almost perget
Would be 5 stars if it wasn't artificial sweetener i.e. sucralose. Apart from that it has everything you'd need in a pre-workout and works very well.

Give your gym sessions a boost!
I workout in a gym four times a week, and take my training seriously. I also believe that I get most of the protein, carbs, fats, vitamins and minerals my body needs from natural sources - in other words, from eating a well-balanced healthy diet. However, I do take a few supplements to give me that extra 'edge' when I'm training, and to aid my recovery afterwards. I daily have: 3x full spectrum amino acid capsules (G&G) and 1 or 2 high-quality whey protein drinks. I also take creatine in five week 'cycles' (five weeks on/one week off).I'm always willing to occasionally 'trial' other supplements, so was pleased to receive this pre-workout supplement from Maximuscle. Given the ingredients, I took this formula during my non-creatine week, and dropped off taking my 'go to' amino acids. I took this Maximuscle pre-workout for a week. I have to admit that I did notice a positive difference in my energy levels and did feel more 'switched on' than usual. However, I did wonder if it was the caffeine content alone that had given me that extra alertness and drive - especially as I train early mornings and normally don't drink tea/coffee for breakfast. In support of this Workout drink though, it does contain some decent ingredients. Creatine has been used by athletes for many years now and has proven performance benefits. Citrulline Malate is the poorer relative to L- Citrulline, but there is evidence to show it may have a positive impact on physical performance. Arginine may also help boost energy levels and there are claims it increases the production of HGH (human growth hormone). Beta Alanine is taken by many of the athletes/bodybuilders I know, to improve endurance and to increase muscle mass.I suspect that most people will take this pre-workout for just one day and notice a positive effect within the hour. I do suspect though that this initial reaction will be due to the 200mg of caffeine in each serving (equivalent to 2 average cups of coffee). Some of the other ingredients take a while to build up in the body, so it could be a period of days/weeks before true results are realised. For instance, creatine takes a while to reach a 'saturation point' - at 5g a day, it will probably take a couple of weeks to fully load those muscles, this is when you'll generally start to realise the full benefit. For me, I'll use up what's left in the container, and then return to my daily 'separate supplements' routine - but that's a personal choice. Given its ingredients, this is a supplement that is certainly worthy of your consideration - take it in conjunction with a good quality whey protein (sourced via grass-fed cattle if possible) and you will hopefully achieve the results you are aiming for. Stay healthy - and make each of those workouts count!
