Great Technique
Proof that simple is always better. In the space of 45 minutes I have an effective means of balancing my chakras. Bravo. Goodbye to long winded, complex, overthought methods and the authors who over compensate with too many words. Chakra Balancing Made Simple is just that, simple. And proof that less is more.

How do we know chakras exist?
This book delivers what it promises, namely a simple technique for balancing one’s chakra’s – assuming that chakras actually exist. I don’t intend to be nastily sarcastic here. Though I am a scientist, many years ago I experienced a series of events that convinced me that the notion of synchronicity was valid. Materialism is more-or-less the foundation of scientific dogma, which means that synchronicity can never be anything more than mere coincidence – not meaningful coincidence. That coincidences can mean anything is impossible. However, trying to explain these experiences away struck me as dishonest. Since science ridicules synchronicity I started studying the ideas of people who believe in synchronicity. The problem with most people who believe in such things as synchronicity is that many, or even most of them, apparently consider gullibility to be an admirable character trait.I first encountered the subject of chakras a few decades ago, but then stopped reading books on mysticism because they lead nowhere. I read Michael Hetherington’s book, as well a book by Hema Malini, because they were both short and free, and I thought it would be interesting to see the impression the idea of chakras made on me now. Hetherington tells us the men’s chakra’s rotate clockwise while women’s chakras rotate counterclockwise. Also that they are related to endocrine glands. How anyone knows the direction of chakra rotation, or what the significance of this rotation is, or what the relation to endocrine glands is, he does not explain. OK, I get that his book is a simple how-to guide, and not a treatise on chakras, but why even mention these things without at least a short explanation? The book by Malini gives us the colors of the chakras, again without any explanation of how these colors are known. Belief in chakras has been around for many centuries. Books on chakras always, often written in incomprehensible, but wonderfully heady, mystical mumbo-jumbo, just take their existence for granted. I gather that to really understand chakras one must have devoted oneself to intense meditation for long enough to have achieved a knowledge of Absolute Truth. Since I have not done this I am not qualified to question Absolute Truth, so whenever those people who are at One With God behave in ways that strike me as foolish (Solomon is an example) or repulsively evil (Moses is an example), it is because I am not sufficiently spiritually advanced to understand True Wisdom. I don’t buy it.On the other hand, having said all of this, it is true that meditation is good for the mind and body. Most of the time our minds are occupied with wasteful, repetitive chatter. Weeding this clutter by concentrating on breathing is definitely beneficial. It also seems to be beneficial to visualize healing and relaxation taking place within the body. If meditating on chakras aids this visualization, so much the better. However, our greatest human fallibility is how susceptible we are to manipulation. Sensible skepticism is the best armor against this.

Excellent intro to Chakra's
This book starts off by explaining what a Chakra is. He puts it simply as an energy wheel that is connected to the nervous system and endocrine glands, and if not working correctly you can suffer from headaches, poor digestion, constipation, diarrhea, gas, bloating, brain fog, confusion, depression, poor circulation, joint problems, balance issues, behavioral problems, poor immune system, irritability, vision problems, anxiety, and aches & pains.Out of balance Chakra's cause all of these symptoms, and 'anything that brings you out of balance can affect the function of your chakras'. As in overuse, abuse, overactivity, overstimulation, over, over, over, and laziness too.He then gives you simple techniques to balancing your chakra's by making circles with your hands in front of them, shaking off your hand, and then circling the chakra's in the reverse motion. He gives pictures of where the 7 chakra's are, Base, Sacral, Solar plexus, heart, Throat, third eye, and Crown. He says you can do this on someone else in the same manner. Chakra's tend to flow upward, so start with the lower ones first and work your way up to the crown. He advises to do this at least twice a day for two weeks to get things moving in a better direction. He goes into what maladies each chakra deals with. This is very informative. He then goes into more advanced techniques using applied kinesiology. And other effective ways to balance chakras like going for walk, resting, relaxing, meditation

Needs some editing, but otherwise a handy resource.
I thought this was a great book. It's a bit short, but it succeeds in what it sets out to accomplish. My energies were all pretty hectic when I first picked it up, and this technique seems to be reining them in so far. I found the mention of a correlation between the chakras and the endocrine system particularly intriguing. This is the first I've heard of this theory (though admittedly I'm not very well read on the subject), and it makes sense when you consider the positioning of the chakras relative to the hormones produced in these areas. I love when people are able to make plausible links between the physical and metaphysical, and this one is certainly worthy of further exploration.I would probably have given this book five stars if not for the constant grammatical issues. I hate to knock a star off for something like this, but grammatical issues distract the reader and pull the mind away from the subject matter. On multiple occasions, the word `secret' was used in place of `secrete'. It could be argued that the various glands secret hormones into the body if you consider that this often happens without the person being aware of it, but I'm pretty sure `secrete' was the intended word here. Another amusing error was the use of `public bone' instead of `pubic bone'. In my experience, the pubic bone tends to be the least `public' of all the bones. Then again, your mileage may vary. There were several other grammatical issues as well, but the aforementioned were the most glaring.

Always an easy read and just the right amount of information to keep you motivated.
I love reading this guys books. They are simple to read, straight to the point and leave you to try out the exercises in your own time. Unlike some authors, this guy shares his obviously extensive knowledge in simple, bite size chunks. For me this is so useful and means if I want to learn more I can go search. But to be honest, I’ve found I have just the right amount of info from his books for my needs and never feel overloaded. I never feel like I ‘have’ to put the book down to digest. One thing I will say when reading his exercises (for example guidance on Chakra Balancing) is that I’ve always felt like I can (and should) use and trust my intuition rather than following a strict regime. The books allow you to follow any exercises or suggestions with just the right amount of self discipline required without making you feel guilty for not being more ‘regimented’; like some authors I have read unfortunately do. I recommend this author, just my opinion if you’re interested, but I certainly gain from reading him (and I often go back to rereading the books for a quick refresh). Thanks.

Easy to follow and adopt the techniques
I really enjoyed this book as it made it easy to understand how to clear and balance chakras on yourself and others. I have looked at a lot of information on this subject but this one got straight to the point. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting straightforward knowledge on chakra balancing.

A good little book
Straight to the point, exercises well explained, at the front of the book (so no need to read lots about chakras if you already know about them). Information well presented. I would recommend it to anyone interested in balancing their chakra, the technique is well explained with photographs to support.

Great book for beginners
Not really knowing anything about chakras, what their function is, or how to balance them, I wanted something that was easy to read and understand as a starting point. This book met my requirements. A short yet informative book that is to the point, doesn't over complicate things, and provides a good base knowledge from which to go and further explore the topic with other material.
