45A Dual Connection Plate

Good connection plate for adding second oven to an existing cooker connection point. Simply removed existing and secured new plate in place. It has separate termination points for supply and each new oven connection so no need to connect multiple cables in same termination point which may result in loose cable connections. A confident Diyer can install this but remember to isolate the cooker by isolating (switching off) at the cooker switch and checking that all cables (both live and neutral) are dead. Also check existing supply has capacity for two ovens. Any doubt contact a qualified electrician. Note that the plate sits slightly more proud than a normal connection plate (about 15mm) but shouldn’t be a problem if you have required air gap at back of ovens which I did.

Fitted for my Electric hob and separate oven. OK for upto 6mm cable. Had to cut a piece of plaster on wall away to get a flush fit otherwise great price/quality.

The existing supply to two ovens had been literally squashed into a single pattress box. I was not happy with this especially when a loose connection tripped the circuit whilst my wife was in the middle of cooking a roast dinner. Galvanised into action, and following a bit of research, the dual connection plate offered a good solution. I opted to fit it onto the existing pattress box to avoid having to ‘excavate’ the wall. The installation was straightforward enough with terminals perfectly adequate for the 6mm cable used although screw tightening does need a firm hand to ensure a good grip on the wire. Once the cover was fitted all the cables and terminals were completely enclosed. Even the part that extends below the pattress box is covered since the dual connection plate is actually a box itself once the cover is on. The only niggly bit was that the cover is slightly narrower than the pattress box leaving a small gap (about 1-2mm) that looked untidy. See photos. However, this is a very minor issue for a very good and tidy solution to feeding two ovens from one supply.

When combined with the patress box made by the same brand but not labeled as such on Amazon for some reason it works great and is the best price around. Perfect fit for combining two cables (such as hob and oven) and easy to install

Ideal to join hob and oven on on one cable. Makes a clean safe job.

Excellent quality

This worked perfectly changing a single oven socket into a double one. It fitted the original single back box just fine.
