Bedroom, OK. Sitting room, no
Update: After many weeks use, I remain ultimately somewhat disappointed. As long as you switch off the equaliser, and adjust treble up a bit, and bass up to max, then music is quite dynamic, and sound separation of instruments is remarkably good. The soundstage is what lets it down. Whatever you do, it remains very narrow. With my eyes closed, all sounds come from a very centred point.I don’t accept the manufacturer’s claims about a cinematic atmosphere, but for bedroom music it’s hard to beat.I’ve downgraded it back to 3 stars.I agree with a lot of both the positive and the negative comments of previous reviews.I found it very easy to set up and my remote works fine. Subwoofer connected automatically.Sound separation for Bluetooth music is really rather good, but stereo separation and soundstage is poor. Dark Side Of The Moon (just one of several albums I sampled) was very disappointing to listen to. No depth, breadth or side to side movement.Soundstage for TV (His Dark Materials) was significantly better: not as immersive as their patent blurb suggests, but music sounded fuller and richer, voices were clear, and soundstage decent, if not expansive. Both the bar and the subwoofer are smaller and MUCH lighter than I was expecting. This means they are discreet. It also means that the sound lacks overall fullness and “punch”.The equaliser is very basic. Either too trebly and harsh, or too muffled. I found it best to switch it off, and adjust treble and bass to suit.As another reviewer has mentioned, only the sound bar seems to be altered by the treble and bass adjustment. The sub output is really very weak. In a small room, it does add a little more roundness. In a large room, I am sure it will have limited effect. The blue LED display IS hard to read from the listening position, even in a bedroom.I am using this in a smallish bedroom, and the sound is now detailed and rounded enough for me to keep it, and not annoy the neighbours. It’s certainly not “tiring” my ears, like some speakers can.At the deal price of £50, I think its performance is very acceptable for a bedroom.I would not recommend it as the main sound source for any serious music or AV entertainment in a living room, due to lack of a wide soundstage.Hope this helps people. After more time spent playing around with the position of both the bar and the sub, and the treble and bass settings, I have been able to further improve the overall sound. Music over BT has improved. I have updated it from 3 to 4 stars.

Good for the price
Good sound, way better than the speakers on the TV. Bass is ok, gives depth to the sound for TV/films but poor compared to a normal hifi - you can adjust bass and treble but max is +/-4 I don't know why they didn't let you increase it more? I use HDMI arc for connecting to the TV, this turns off the TV speakers and when you change volume on the TV it changes volume on the soundbar instead so you don’t get a volume icon on the TV but you can see the volume on the soundbar display. The soundbar has a red LED display which I found to be very bright although thankfully it can be turned off with the remote, it is also behind the speaker grill so difficult to read and could be improved. Connecting the TV headphone output to the speaker line in also worked ok, can then change volume on the TV or the speaker however when doing this I got a pop when turning TV on and off. I also tried connecting with an optical cable however doing this you can’t change the volume with the TV remote have to use the soundbar remote so overall HDMI arc worked best. With my JVC TV I found the TV hummed loudly when turned off after using HDMI arc, I eventually found that leaving a cable in the headphone socket of the TV fixed that so I suspect this is an issue with the TV not the soundbar. I haven’t used the radio or bluetooth connection. Overall good for the price, giving 4 stars not 5 because the display could be better and the bass isn’t great.

Is this the best soundbar on the market?
UPDATE: after short while the remote snapped in half, i knew from the get go the remote was filmsy but didn't expect it to snap in half. Everything else is definitely worth it but is let down by a very cheap remote i wouls still recommend has a budget sound bar but if your fussy about remotes then I'd either give it a try or avoid!!! Is it the best sounding soundbar out there? Nope! Definitely not, does it function well in what its supposed to do? Absolutely!!By far not the best sounding soundbar you can get but you'd be hard pressed to find one that sounds this good at this price. When reviewing this particular soundbar you MUST consider the price plus the performance & this soundbar does not disappoint, although at max volume it struggled a little but that's very minor. You get to choose from "movie", "voice" & ADJ options "ADJ" is basically where you can increase or decrease the bass & treble , you also can use it with bluetooth or optical or hardwired with an auxiliary cable. I've tested this with my tv and firestick the "ARC" setting did not work for me I'm not sure why but everything else does, I then proceeded to test it with my xbox one X and wow did it come to life!!! The sub is wireless and connects very fast to the soundbar. Now not the best I've heard and definitely wont substitute a full 5.1 set up but it definitely adds depth to whatever your watching without the clutter of speakers and wires. Would I recommend this? Yes definitely I would and already have for the price its definitely a steal & a statement that you don't need those lg's & Samsung's & Sony's & no need to spend hundreds to get good sound, its loud it's clear the sub is a little on the weak side but will suffice. Overall an excellent buy.
