Echo Dot Kids Edition - Rainbow - With Echo Glow

My toddler son was so impressed by the ad he really wanted this kids echo dot. I also thought it should be good for kids, so we bought it. But there are many disadvantages than advantages. My old echo dot could do all of the actions the kids echo dot does. Only difference is kids echo dot has some restrictions, which is good as its meant for kids room.But disadvantage is there are many good songs and music which my regular echo dot would play but this one does not play. Even songs like icky sticky bubble gum which is a kids song.Now even my other echo dot does not do most of the functions as it started behaving like a kids echo dot. I tried changing settings but no use.Now my old echo dot does not call any phone numbers, it does not find my phone, it does not tell notifications about my amazon orders, it does not work on any commands related to TV.After buying this I ended up with both echo dots working like kids echo dot.

Supposedly a thousand audible, free stories for kids . But list of those does not exist. Presumably expecting user to search in the full library for days? Many bugs. Most common answer from the Echo is "I don't have it, I can't do that" even if the content is available. But one has to go through contortions to get to it.Alexa is horribly and boringly verbose. Several sentences were a couple of words would suffice. Again, and again. Voice recognition is OK, but semantics, understanding user request is very poor. The good part is that it remembers where a story stopped, and restarts from there. But no "bookmarks" to set and start from, if more than one kid wants to listen to the same story at different time/pace. Setting multiple accounts for this is not a convenient work around.

My daughter loves hers! Google and Apple are light years behind Amazon when it comes to AI products. The lamp is easy to set up and link to her kids echo. She used to use a dented warmer at night to illuminate her room, she uses this now.She loves to hear stories on her echo and listen to music. My Spotify now thinks I’m obsessed with Trolls World Tour because of that skill.She uses hers to check the weather in the morning so she can pick out her clothes. Making her feel extra grown up.She cannot access the Amazon shopping app from her echo, so no random toys showing up and there are other parent protections as well.

No real parental control. Access to all radio, when it can’t understand your child, they end up starting crazy songs or stories by mistake.You can’t control the volume of the Disney stories you can’t limit stationsYou can not easily set down times where the child can’t access stories after bedtime. You can set it for say the radio but not the stories or vis verseThe lights are bright, they can’t be dimmed from the until. I prefer the sunset clocks 100% to this light and we will be switching back

We got this thing with the Alexa. Trying to make sure we got her something that would be a decent night light without it being too bright. We got the Alexa for music and sleep sounds. The light when it is not on the “white” light is perfect for a night light. They are not too bright but bright enough she isn’t in the dark. We love them together. They will play some songs and the light will “dance” to the music. We think it’s great and worth it.

My daughter is terrified of the dark, so this was the perfect birthday gift for her. She's only 5 years old, so sometimes Alexa has a hard time understanding what she says, but most of the time it works great! She loves to tell Alexa to play "My Little Pony" and dance around her room. Great product!

My kid loves it ! Would definitely recommend. Games, music, stories and all. the light is definitely worth it and just adds so much more to this Alexa ! Some apps work some don’t but you have thousands to choose from that do work. She even has security options to keep your kid safe. Can very easily turn mic on or off. Has special option to listen for broken glass and send an alert. Easily controlled through your phone. Set reminders timers and more. She tells jokes too. Can set routines for every night there is really so many options. My daughter is 6 and can’t get enough of her Alexa and honestly it’s not bad of a price because sound quality is great and that alone can raise a price pretty high. They always have great sales on this item too. Definitely a win for sure.

This was the best gift idea!! Our son loves it and our girls are even asking for one. We love that they can ask to play any song and we do not have to worry about the lyrics or content that may accidently come up. We would love to gift this perfect set to all our lives ones with kiddos.
