Fixed my misfire
This coil was an exact replacement for my OEM coil. I have used MSD ignition products for years without any failure issues.

Faster starts on my Ram 1500 5.9L 1999 4x
My Dodge Ram has 165,000mi on it and started getting poorer gas mileage and a rough idle showed up but no Check engine light so I decided to start replacing all the sensors, belt, timing chain and ignition parts anyways as a precaution. After replacing everything listed and plugs, cap(brass contacts), wires, injectors, etc.. but not the coil I still had a hard start condition and sometimes it had a rough idle. Finally I replaced the stock coil with the MSD 8228 and sure enough my Ram runs great again. Starts right up and no rough idle. I did need the Accel adapter and now good to go another 160k.

looks good, easy install, Dodge Magnum engine required wiring adaptor to connectnow the bad, lasted about 100 miles, then failed, lucky I had spare factory coilhad high expectations (quality wise) of MSD product, disappointing purchase

not reliable
I purchased this part in June and started a return - My son took my coil so he could get to work and school as my jeep is still waiting for a transmission. Completely forgot the return. put this coil back in my son's jeep and back to crank no start and I can no longer return this crap component.I never received any notices that my return is going to expire or anything. What a waste of $63

Great product just wish I had known I had to buy adapter for it to work on my jeep

Fires up but can’t really tell a difference
Works as it’s supposed to no noticeable difference in performance or MPG fires up like a regular NGK or off brand the only reason I got it is for looks

Fits on 96 Cherokee xj 4.0
Plug and play fit flawlessly on my 96 Cherokee XJ 4.0 haven't used the coil yet I have a firing issue so eliminated this next is my distributor pick up coil the plugs into this coil hopefully that will solve my problem

Surprising
When I first decided to add this to my Durango I was kinda sceptical, but now that I have done it I am very happy I did. My truck starts better and once I changed out the plugs, wires, and put a brass cap and rotor on it seems to run smoother. Not sure if this has helped my gas milage or power as of yet. I still have some issues I need to resolve in the front end of the truck.Note: Make sure to disconnect the neg battery cable and order the adapter kit for this or your check engine light will light up.
