I've had a multitude of coffee makers, from French press to Nespresso original and vertuo. Ended up getting rid of our vertuo machine to go back to this. It's very easy to use, produces fantastic coffee and seems really well made. I usually fill the machine before bed and wake up to enough coffee to fill a vacuum flask and a couple cups before work. The temperature is perfect for coffee, easy to clean and relatively quick for a full pot. This was on offer and fantastic value for money

Loving this machine... Over the years I've been through various bean to cup machines, pod machines etc and after using an aeropress, I've finally realised that my favourite coffee is filter coffee. I bought this machine because it has a timer function, so I can have coffee ready for my wife and I when we wake up. This version is cheaper than the therm model and the glass jug means you can see the coffee and it's easy to clean. I have the hot function to stay on for 60 minutes and honestly the coffee tastes fine after that period. Initially I was on the fence as the coffee was weak, but turns out my grinds were too coarse. The lavaza rossa red ground coffee works a treat.

After my 15 year old machine finally gave up the ghost, I researched filter coffee machines till I was blue in the face: there are so very many to choose from and pros and cons for them all. I eventually decided on a Melitta, as I wanted to try the original German version of a filter coffee machine and to try paper filters instead of mesh. I'm pleased with my purchase. The machine is easy to set up and use. It makes coffee quickly and keeps it very hot, which was important for me. The machine is pre-set to keep coffee hot for 40 minutes, but you can easily change the setting to 20 or 60 minutes, and if it goes off before you're ready you can switch it on again immediately. The machine looks really good and the pot is a lovely shape and pours without dripping. The pot, lid and swivel filter case can go in the dishwasher, another plus point for me. The only reason I have not given it five stars is because I like strong coffee and to start off, I thought the coffee was a bit weak. Now, I put an extra spoonful in the filter and am happy with the result. I do think the paper filters give a better, more mellow flavour than the mesh filter on my old machine. Overall, I am pleased with the Melitta machine, I think it's good value for money, and I would recommend it.

A good Coffee is really important to me! I’ve tried pod machines but never liked the coffee. After much research and seeing this was voted top with Which I decided to try it. I’ve now used it many times and it’s great. Really easy to use, fill the water and the filter coffee in a disposable paper filter, and press on, or set the timer so it’s ready for the morning. You can adjust the strength I just have it on strong. The coffee is piping hot and it produces great tasting coffee. I did wonder if this would be too much for one person but I fill the water to 6 cups and that produces 2 large mugs of coffee for perspective. Recommended.

After 18 months can confirm this has been an excellent purchase. Easy to use and delivers good results, in reasonable time. After a few decades and several different filter machines and a long period using cafetières, this is the best we have had. The quality of the coffee you put in comes through. This model (with or without timer) was one of only two recommended by a consumer magazine, and the other cost many hundreds of pounds, so good value. It does the job without fuss - easy to fill and run, keep-warm function handily cuts off so no baked-on coffee to deal with. Other machines frequently spat on the hot plate but this one does not drip, provided you wait until it has stopped processing. We use compostable paper filters so easy to clean up after. We have hardly used the timer function so would not bother if buying again. A good choice,

Gutted bought this and it has stopped working. The coffee it made was amazing.

Grateful coffee filter, easy to use

This was a let down. If you put the correct amount of ground coffee, the brew is weak. If you put more coffee, then it doesn't even get extracted entirely. If you ground the coffee a bit too fine, you'll find dry coffee at the bottom of the filtre after the water has already been entirely dispensed.

A qualche mese dall'acquisto, confermo la prima impressione: Melitta fa delle ottime macchine per il caffé filtrato, questa ha anche la regolazione dell'aroma. Il caffè è buono, il timer ben apprezzato così posso preparare il tutto la sera prima. La vaschetta estraibile ottima soluzione per mantenere pulita la macchina. Unica nota negativa, se salta la corrente la macchina perde la memoria sia di orario e timer, sia dei tempi del decalcificatore.
