I have had mine for almost two years and it has not rusted, even with daily use and regular. hand washing. Every now and again I will put it in the dishwasher. This is a high quality, heavy stainless steel scoop, unlike several purchased through the years that have rusted.

No, nothing written on the handle. Very sturdy and looks great

Q: Does this scoop break up ice? my ice machine ice comes in sheets how would this scoop withstand constant use of breaking up ice?

This should not be an issue, it's pretty stout and we use it to break up chunks of ice all the time.

Q: Can this scooper stay in the ice container in the freezer without rusting?

We leave ours in the freezer and so far no rust. It is truly well made. The only "negative" is that it isn't very deep so you have to pay attention or you spill ice outside of the cup.
