worked as designed
used this to create a water level monitor for the freshwater tank on my boat with an Arduino.

Great for pool level monitoring.
Provides readings for 5 water depths at 16mm intervals. Added it to the underside of a skimmer cover to monitor the water level so I know when to add/remove water throughout the season.

Works great with Reef Pi
Works great using my Reef Pi, and a good choice if you cant drill into your container for the optical switch. Plug and play and for those interested I'm using Pin 18. Mine did come with a cable going from the 3 pin board connector to three single Female Dupont connectors to be able to plug onto the pin outs of the raspberry pi/breakout board. Pi recognized it instantly as an input. The board that comes with the sensor has two switches, one is a "set" that reverses the polarity, the other selects the voltage 3V & 5V, i have mine set 3.3V for the output to the Pi GIPO. Supply power to the sensor is still 5V regardless of the switch position. The only issue i saw was there is no adjustment screw for sensitivity, as can be seen in the picture of the installed sensor, . I did have to make sure the glass was clean on the inside of the tank, also using the 3M adhesive strip moved it off of the glass which helped with a false trigger. There is a little bit of a sweet spot when it comes to distance from the glass. After that sweet spot was found, as seen in the second picture, the screen shot from my Reef Pi shows it working normally. The distance not not an issue when i placed it on my plastic ATO bucket. Side note, it also worked on my ceramic coffee mug when i was bench testing it.I will probably get a few more as i expand my setup, the fact that these can be placed externally is extremely useful.

Looks Nice but I haven’t assembled it yet so I’m not sure if it even works.

Nice sensor!
We have a 275 gallon water tank that fills up weekly from our dehumidifiers. Really tired of checking this every couple of days so enter - raspberry pie and this cool sensor! As you can see by the pictures we have hardened this beyond millspec for the task at hand. One note: only the "end" shown is water proof. This is also mentioned in the enclosed literature.

Used for reef-pi ATO
The product was purchased to monitor the water level for a saltwater aquarium. I followed the reef-pi tutorial and this sensor was recognized immediately and worked flawlessly. It's important to note that this sensor isn't water tight! It has a wet and a dry side so be careful with the installation. The vendor is incredibly responsive and stands behind their product. I will be buying more.

Works great, Short Cable
Perfect for my setup. I’m using this as a minimum water level sensor combined with another water level sensor for maximum water level. If the minimum sensor is triggered, the water turns on until the maximum is reached. The only drawback is the length of the cable. It is short... very short. I’ll need to make an extender at some point. But, it works very well as advertised.
