An Introduction to Fire Dynamics

Drysdale's book is an excellent overview of fire dynamics for any fire protection engineer. While it is not truly exhaustive, you will be well-equipped to tackle a variety of fire dynamics problems based on the material presented. It also makes good supplemental material to the Fire Dynamics section in the 4th edition of the  SFPE Handbook of Fire Protection Engineering .

It is a very good review about principles of fire phenomena told from a critical perspective. You will find all you need in order to understand the most general concepts and how they were experimented and analyzed. However, sometimes you will feel that there are not enough examples of calculation. But it is very useful as a guide.

Great book for every fire engineer, a lot of people say it is kind of Bible for fire engineering both during the studies and actual work.

I bought this book for some specific explanations and formulae. It's since provided me with answers to a number of problems I have encountered - and I'm still working my way through the text (hence at this stage only 4 stars - I may amend when I've completed reading!). Clear and easy to read.
