Works great with a long range
It’s very accurate and has a long range that goes through walls. The batteries also last forever, I haven’t even had to replace the ones it came with yet. Worth every penny

Use Lithium Batteries for Low Temperature Extremes
Use this Digital Thermometer in our Greenhouse. Sensor placed in Greenhouse with Lithium batteries. Initially tried Alkaline batteries for outside sensor and received incorrect readings. Changed to Lithium batteries and the unit worked perfect. Lithium batteries have a higher tolerance for low temperatures. Greenhouse is about 100 feet from the display unit and have not had any issues with the wireless range. The wireless signal indicator showing strength of signal is a good feature. Another good feature is the two low battery indicators. One for the outdoor sensor and one for the display unit. Love the posting of the high and low temperatures over a 24 hour period. Excellent user support as I was able to clear up one issue within two days over email. Great unit for the cost.

Reliable and accurate
This is our second purchase of an indoor-outdoor thermometer. It works well and is sufficiently accurate (within 1 or 2 degrees of other reliable temp gauges). Has been thru a winter in a protected area outdoors and still works. It is relied on daily.Ver easy to set-up and use.

Very Useful
I only have one complaint about this product, the inside temperature will not read below 32 degrees F. I took it camping with me in the dead of a New Hampshire winter to measure the temperature difference between what was in my tent and what was outside. The outside temperature sensor performed flawlessly and still transmitted signal to the display in my tent which was about twenty yards away. Unfortunately, the display unit doesn't seem capable of displaying below the stated limit above. I verified this with my thermometer.Pro's: Small, sets up in minutes, displays information in seconds, and is very compact. Takes up very little room in my backpack. Requires very little power. The batteries that I put in it last year are still going.

Buy this excellent thermometer
Buy this! Very happy with it. Accurate and reliable. If it ever isn't, it's time to change batteries. I even take it along camping so I can know outdoor temperature without going outside.

So far so good (4 months)
I bought this and installed it several months ago. I sit about 12 feet away from it and I can see the temperatures just fine. It may be off by a degree at times or it is still adjusting to the new temperature of its storage location. I use it every day to know when / if I can open the windows and turn on the house fan. If you need a simple indoor outdoor thermometer, this one works. I didn't want one that tries to predict the weather or tell me the humidity. I liked this one because it was simple and tracks the max and min temps. I think the max and min temps resets at the same time each day instead of using the highest or lowest value in the last 24 hours. I know it was colder overnight, but it will give me the low temp from the morning. Whatever. The current temp outside compared to inside is what I use most.

Two straight units have been calibrated incorrectly - outdoor temperature readings are wrong
[the model number on the front of the AcuRite instruction manuals is 00424M, while the model number on the back of the outdoor sensors is 00606TXA1. Confusing? I certainly think so! Something feels screwy about that! Why don't the manual and sensor have the same model number?!]I bought the first of my two AcuRite thermometers from Amazon in November 2024, but didn't notice until the recent cold snap (I live in the PNW) that my outdoor temperature readings were off by 4 degrees. I returned the first sensor/receiver pair last week, and received the second sensor/receiver pair a couple of days ago - it also is off by 4 degrees for the outdoor reading. I have written AcuRite asking them if I should just keep exchanging them through Amazon Prime until I get one that works correctly, which certainly couldn't be profitable for either AcuRite or Amazon!* this incorrect sensor reading occurs, as far as I can tell, around 45 degrees. When I brought both pieces insides (both times), the temperature readings were the same for both the sensor and receiver. It's between 40-45 degrees that the 4 degrees differential appears.* I am using lithium batteries in the sensor, it's 8 feet above a wooden deck, and it's under an eave. I'm using the same nail that I have for over 5 years with other AcuRite thermometers.* I have two points of calibration: a Weather Underground weather station one block from my house, and the thermometer in my 3-year-old York heat pump.Up until now, I have always been very pleased with AcuRite. I wonder if they got sold to somebody?
