Works as they should.
Very durable for being plastic. You have to clamp down on them pretty hard if you are going to torque anything, but they work.

Holds heavy profile barrels firm. This is a must Have!!
I used this on my heavy barreled Remington 700 AAC profile barrel and WOW! Held the barrel and complete rifle firmly as I worked on rifle. I am very satisfied with the quality and Very affordable price. This is a must have.

Not as good as aluminum.
These plastic inserts won’t mark up your barrel but they don’t grip very well either. Attempted to use this on my bench vise to install a flash hider against a crush washer on an AR barrel where I needed to torque the flash hider about 270 degrees to get the timing correctly. Barrel slipped a lot in these plastic jaw insert and I was worried I might damage my gas tube. I wound up using aluminum barrel vise inserts….. no slipping!

These did why I needed, but...
...you can’t expect to vise something up and apply a lot of turning force to it. I use this to attach and remove muzzle devices on rifles. Well I have found that I usually have to attach a wrench to the barrel nut and secure that to keep the whole shootin match (see what I did there lol) from turning. Works, but it isn’t ideal. Also, some vise soft-jaws can be had with magnets in them to keep them in place while setting up your work. With these you have to adjust the vise close, place these onto the piece you are working on, slip them between the jaws of the vice, and the support the work until you can tighten the vise. Magnets eliminate about half the effort there.

Use a towel!!!
This works just fine so long as the barrel is initially wrapped with a towel to increase the friction. I have installed many a muzzle brake on both .308 and 5.56 ARs with no problem. I just wrap the barrel with a dish towel, under the gas tube, and tighten the clamp as much as possible. If done correctly the barrel will not budge. Without the towel, it will just spin with your wrench.

I had to drill holes and press magnets into them to be useable. Otherwise they were very nice but they must stick to the vice jaws to be useful. Maybe add the magnets and add few bucks to the price and you got something.

They Work- but there is a bit of a Design Flaw
Ok, so they work, but a bit of a design flaw. You have to hold these, and the barrel with one hand, and tighten the vice with the other. In other words, if you set them in an open vice without holding them (without a barrel), they fall through- a longer upper flange or magnets would definately make them easier to use. I use them anyway, because frankly, they do hold the barrel very well once you have everything tightened down. Other No-Mar products I use work flawlessly, so hopefully they fix the design toale, yet, another awesome and affordable product.
