A important book that we should all read and give to our children. From a middleclass, happy and productive, law-abiding citizen
I bought this book and read it on my Android tablet with a Kindle app, it's a very good and informative book. "Arrest-Proof Yourself" is a really about common sense. Normal average middleclass people who follow rules will pick up some real pointers about how to keep themselves out of the back seat of a patrol car. I always suspected that the police had a point system and a unofficial quote system in place, now it's been confirmed.I am sure with this advice and my dominating middle class American values I won't be seeing any self inflected arrest in my future.BUT the real value of this book is that it enlightens you to the CONSEQUENCES of being arrested. They are huge and life changing. Pay attention. The cost of the book is nothing in comparison to understanding the consequences of being arrested. The book explains clearly (and with examples) that just because you were not convicted of the crime you were originally arrested for doesn't mean that the arrest disappears from your record. The arrest will NEVER disappear, it will always be there to haunt you and come back and bite you in the you know what. Your employer, your bank, your mortgage loan officer, your new love interest, everybody will see the arrest. There will be no mention that you were not convicted. People will think you were arrested, you are guilty. They will ask themselves "Should I associate with this person, do I want him or her in my company?"Hold on though, it gets Worse. He talks about what's going on in electronic surveillance. Pay attention because "Big Brother" is.In the end the book is the real deal. It's not a conspiracy "theory" book. Your getting it straight from the horse's mouth.Like I said originally, the average middle class American will never have any problems with the Police, and also let me say thank God for the Police because they are all that is standing between us (average Americans) and anarchy. With that said I am still going to give this book to each of my 3 children and recommend it to all my friends and family.

An EXCELLENT book. This is one that every American should ...
An EXCELLENT book. This is one that every American should read to be aware of exactly what our rights are. My dad recommended this book to me, and I am so glad I took the time to read it. There are very informative chapters that could truly save one a lot of time and trouble, all while assuring you keep your legal record in as spotless a condition as possible. This book also contains multiple examples of the tactics police use on citizens to try and land one in more trouble than one was originally cited for. I think the most useful chapter was the one aimed specifically at men; a chapter dedicated to educating men on how much the courts (and police) side with the woman and view the man as instantly guilty in any domestic disturbance calls to police are made, while also illustrating how one of you WILL going to jail if the police are called (even by a neighbor). No surprise the police always side with the female, and it's almost always the man who gets hauled to jail. This covers so many legal matters, I recommend it to anyone and everyone.

The author shows just how easy it is to get caught up in the system ...
The information contained in the book would be/is valuable to any parent. It details how the "industries" of social services, "child protective agencies" (a misnomer if ever there was one) and the prison system are tied together. The author shows just how easy it is to get caught up in the system or "the farm" as he calls it and makes it plain that once you are taken into The System there is no escape from it. It details protective measures that you can use to safeguard yourself , your property and especially your children from becoming entangled in this self-perpetuating business- and it is a business. Did you know that many states in the US have privately run prisons? Did you know that they only make a profit if they keep the prisons full? Did you know that if your son or daughter is stopped for a traffic violation while driving your car, and that if the police find drugs in the car- even if in the possession of a friend that your child is transporting in your car, that YOU are held accountable as the owner of that vehicle? There is a wealth of good information in the book from a knowledgeable former cop/FBI agent turned defense lawyer and it really is a "must read". The corny sounding chapter titles grate on my nerves, but the information in the book is exceedingly useful. The author makes the uninitiated aware of the fact that the information age has been a huge boon to cops and your life history is at their fingertips no matter where you are in the country. He lets you know that no arrest is ever erased from your record (if you have one) simply because the local jurisdictions cannot clear any arrests from the Federal records. They are there for a person's lifetime. I consider this very illuminating material for anyone and, as I have said for parents especially. I only gave it 4 stars for its writing style- but don't let that stop you from ordering and reading the book.
