This is so great as a topping on salads, soups and any cooked eggs.Love this stuff.

I personally like these onions more than the French's brand. They are crispier and have better flavor. The bag always seems to be more filled than the French's. I use them as a topping for casseroles, breading food, and in salads all the time.

Purchased this brand in Costco before, but they haven't had them in almost a year. So I bought them here at almost three times the price, but the taste is SO worth it. French's onions are bottom of the barrel mush compared to these top notch REAL crispy fried onions.

The French's version of these is an American classic garnish, but it is sooo salty! When I saw these, and read somewhere that both brands were owned by the same parent company, I decided to take a chance. I say chance because such a low price for something like this often means poor quality at least. The only complaint I have, and the reason I took off one star, is that most of the contents were broken. Not good but the smaller pieces will make a good addition to crumb toppings/coatings and could be good on a baked potato or a tuna sandwich.This bag and a 4 oz. measuring cup were the only things shipped in a box about 30" x 18". There was minimal crumpled paper, as well, but not nearly enough to keep the contents from being banged around a lot. There's no way to tell if the onions were broken before shipping, but so many broken pieces is not what I had in mind. Also contributing the loss of one star is that fact that this resealable bag does not reseal. Fortunately, I have an airtight container that will fit the largish bag and its contents.It is a really big bag, too. Really big. I saw the weight -- 1.5 pounds, but wasn't really thinking about what volume that much product would occupy. This is not really a drawback, but be aware that you're going to get a lot of crispy onions if you choose these. For the price, even with the broken pieces, it's still a good product and worth the cost.

I bought this product in place of the other brand that Amazon offers. The other brand had 60mg of salt (and was oK but didn't quite taste the same as I was used to), and this brand has only 15mg of salt. Very significant difference. I was randomly shopping at a new grocery outlet store and found that they had both brands that Amazon offered. The high salt brand was more expensive, but this brand was $4 cheaper. So, I sought to return this one to Amazon. Because it was a food item they could not take it back but offered a return-less refund. Very good of Amazon and that is why I buy from them. While I did find this product at this other store, it may not always be there and I will come back to Amazon if they stop carrying it. It is good to know it will be here and the price is still better than I had found elsewhere (specifically at Costco which no longer carries it). So, I highly recommend this the low salt option!
