Saved me and is worth the price.
June will make 4 years since I bought this. Just came back from a business trip and somehow lost my house key. I was worn out and tired, having flown all day. I tore apart everything in my luggage and no key. This was still where I buried it, barely visible. I pried it out of the ground and opened it. Inside was a shiny silver key inside the plastic bag that fit my door. Saved my butt.

seems to work well
its cover is not snug but you put your key in plastic....or something to keep the cover snug...works great..does not look out of place

exposed white line showing
meh, doesn't close all the way and leaves a exposed white edge. will work for us since it's buried in a rock pile but it failed quality control.

Hides well and good size
The inside hiding area is big enough but not too big. Back slides on and off and the rock looks somewhat inconspicuous.

PANGAEA brand fake rocks are not good. Bought in 2024 and 2025 - returned both times
I bought a PANGAEA brand fake rock in 2024, was disappointed, and returned it. I tried buying a different verison of a PANGAEA fake rocks in 2025, more disappointment, and returned them. The first (2024) purchase: The advertised picture of the rock looks like a gray (albeit mottled) stone. However, what I received looks like orange Play-Doh (see attached comparison picture). I know there is bound to be some deviation when a fake rock is made to look real, but in this case the manufacturer really missed the mark. Functionally it works fine. The second (2025) purchase: Functionally it works fine (the sliding door is easy to open and plenty of room inside). This time the coloring was good and matched the advertised picture. However, the sliding door has a pure white edge that stick out (see picture) that draws attention to the fact that it's fake (which kind of defeats the purpose). I bought four of these this time and all four suffer from the same problem.

Looks Real
I love that this rock is able to blend in with some decorative stone that we have in our yard. This is a perfect spot to store keys and I'm so happy with the realistic look of it - never would guess at first glance that it is a false rock for hiding keys! Have ordered two now and so happy with both of them. Would definitely recommend these to family members and friends since they also have a very low price to them!

I fixed all the problems with this PANGAEA Key Hider Fake Rock.
I liked the way the PANGAEA Key Hider Fake Rock was designed, but it sure could use some quality control at the manufacturing facility.I bought it to hide my keys but I could not get the door to open at all.The door was wedged in so tightly nothing was going to budge it!The slide out bottom door just did not fit the unit.I had to use a pair of pliers and a screwdriver to get it open. The inner lip that holds the door was not cut correctly.I could barely open or close the door because it's made so poorly. The door did not slide smoothly. It was not cut correctly for the opening. The paint looked like just light grey primer. So I repainted it myself, and now it looks like an official real rock.I reinforced the groove lips with Gurilla epoxy to get them sturdy and strong. Then, I went to work on the slide grooves with my Dremall tool and recut the grooves so the door slides in and out smoothly.I also coated the grooves with candle wax to give the door an easy slide in and out.Now it is a great hide key rockSure, it is not really waterproof. But if you coat your key with candle wax and use the supplied baggy, your key should survive most all types of weather.I would be hesitant to put one of those electronic key fob things in this PANGAEA Key Hider Fake Rock

Right size to hide a key in.
Does the job. We placed it in a plastic bag and buried it in case of extreme emergency.
