Blue Wave 120-Square Feet Cartridge Filter System with 1.5 HP Pump Dk. Gray

I am insane enough to admit I hooked this AMAZING filtration/pump system up to my Coleman above ground temporary pool. The original pump was A JOKE. This pump allows me to use an AquaCritter to automate the cleaning of the bottom of the pool, and cycles the water nicely in just three GENEROUS hours. It's a little tricky integrating into the pool, but not terrible difficult. The pump I received DOES NOT look like the one in the photo. I'm okay with that. I gave it a chance and it works, although I honestly believe had I received the correct one, the leaf catch would be significantly easier to clean. All the same, though, it does what I want it to, it CAME with a filter cartridge and it keeps my pool crystal clean - in FLORIDA - land of green pools. It makes maintenance a cinch, and reduces the chemicals I need to maintain excellent water chemistry. We're going to upgrade the pool to a legit above ground next year and simple transition this pump into place. I would recommend this product and seller.

The pump and filter system worked flawless, alot of power. Fittings I put on leaked so will have to use plumbers putty or somekind of permatex instead of teflon tape, no big deal. Very happy with purchase.UPDATE: PUMP LASTED ABOUT TWO WEEKS AND QUIT, SHUT OF TO CLEAN FILTER BUT WOULD NOT START AGAIN. CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WARRENTY IS A JOKE, WORKED ON IT SEVERAL HOURS TO NO AVAIL. ENDED UP GETTING A DIFFERENT PUMP AND PUT ON THE FILTER. VERY HAPPY WITH FILTER SYSTEM BUT PUMP IS JUNK.

Received this pump yesterday. Seemed good until I went to put it together. The directions are unusable and I went on to Amazon to leverage the picture for assembly. So, if you need step by step instruction, probably not the best product for you.Where issues really begin to arise is in some of the design and materials. Screw in drain plugs made of cheap plastic, rubber gasket placement, and design for securing the rubber o-rings. Too much silicon gel? They slide out of place and there's a big leak... Not enough? Won't seal or hold in the small slots... Too much torque on the drain plug WITH MY HAND? Head snapped off and there's a constant leak...Dude to the cheap materials and poor design, nearly impossible to get a properly sealed set up leaving and taking a lot of air in the system.

Pump and filter work as advertised. I have an approx 11,000 gallon above ground pool and this pump/filter keep the water clear. Filter is easy to remove and clean. After using a cartridge type filter, I'll never go back to sand.Note that the plug is a standard ground plug and not a "locking" type. Also, the pump does not have an on/off switch so if it is not connected to a timer/switch you'll need to plug/unplug the pump to turn it on/off.The instructions provided were not great, but overall the setup is not that complicated. Also, the model shipped to me was tan which does not match the color in the description.For ~$300 this is a great deal.

This System I've been using since May and it could not have been more simpler to install and use. The pressure it emits is fantastic and the included filter is much appreciated. This system is also light enough that if you live in the north, can easily store for winter in a shed or garage unlike the cumbersome sand filters. Cleaning is also very easy compared to other filters. Would recommend to others.

Received the filter a day early, which was nice. However, the box looked a little sketchy, almost looked like it was repackaged at some point. Took everything out of the boxes and everything was there so no issues so far. Went to put this thing together and noticed some poor workmanship....Glue that ran from one of the seams that was not wiped clean and was allowed to cure, scuff/dirt marks on the tank and pump, tank is beige not black like the description. Cosmetic stuff mainly....Didn't look brand spankin new. I went to mount the tank and filter to the base and noticed that the hex bolts provided were about an inch short so I couldn't mount the tank. Trip to the store to buy some longer bolts (side note: hardware is metric (M8). I bought 2.5" 5/16-18 bolts and nuts and they were good to go). Anyway, got everything together, all bolted down, all the fittings screwed in etc. and I go to attach the hoses and they were the wrong size....1-1/4" hose end for a 1-1/2" fitting so I had to use the hoses from my old pump/filter which wasn't a huge deal since the hoses you get with this are pretty crappy and cheap. That's as far as I made it for now. I have to be honest I'm a little nervous to turn this thing on. Hopefully this it performs like a champ so I can look past the initial let down. So far not impressed at all. Especially the color...Kinda pissed about that.

This filter system is great, and takes up much less space than a sand filter. I had no idea there was even an alternative to a sand filter for an above ground pool, and actually just stumbled on this while looking to replace the archaeic sand filter that came with the house we just bought. This system is smaller, easy to operate and simple to adapt to our salt chlorinator. We waste NO water because there is no backwashing. I'll never have a sand filter ever again.

Finally opened my pool and hooked up this filter. The pump on this is very quiet you can't even tell it's on at times. Extremely powerful water flow rate and filtering. The only minor quibble I have is the pressure gauge "glass" doesn't seal completely and allows water to get into the dial and it will fog up in the sun. Overall this is a great system and very easy to put together as long as you follow the directions. Would be easier with 2 people but can be out together by yourself.Update 6/18/21:The pump motor died on this a couple of days ago, just buzzing and won't turn at all. It appears that it has seized up. I'm going to have to buy another pump motor at a cost of anywhere from $150-300 to get this running again. Not happy that it only lasted on season, and less than a month this year.
