Fiebing's Acrylic Resolene
I recently dyed a motorcycle vest using Fiebing's Black Leather Dye. It did a great job of restoring the color, but the black color would transfer to anything it rubbed up against, not matter how much I buffed it with a clean cloth. I carried the vest to a local shop which deals with leather goods and inquired as to how to stop the transfer. I was sold a product called M&B Quick Shine 48, and told to wipe down the vest with rubbing alcohol prior to applying it. I carefully cleaned the vest and applied 2 coats of the Quick Shine. It was NOT effective in stopping the color transfer.I then did what I should have done to begin with and went to Fiebing's website and discovered the right product for the job is Resolene, a leather finisher. Having put 2 coats of Quick Shine on the vest previously, I used saddlesoap to once again clean the vest. I then let it dry overnight and applied Resolene twice, letting it dry between applications. I did not dilute it. After letting it sit overnight, I wiped it down with a clean, soft cloth and there is no longer a color transfer. It works beautifully!!!

Works great for bdsm collars
I have a collar that I wore for years so of course there was wear and tear. Didn't wear it for awhile due to this because I didn't want it completely ruined. Used this after using filler to fill the holes and it works great. No color bleeding onto my neck and no effect when I wear it and sweat. It does not feel tacky though my husband had better luck spreading it with a glove on and using a torch lighter to dry it faster for more layers. There is a smell when it's just done but just let it sit overnight and it will be gone, and it's not so strong that you can't work on this in a bedroom. When using a rubber glove to apply its easy to spread due to the product not being too thick. Over all love this product.

Black version review over dyed shoes (pluses & minuses) - suede
I ignored all the research I did re: suede (you can see other ignored directions in my review for the "original CatHole").This is my experience:I used suede dye on a pair of top quality Italian made *purple* pumps (only $64 for new!). The stitching did not take the dye completely. Dye xfer too. Used the black version of Resolene over the the dye job. Stitching now black. HOWEVER, I wish I used this full strength in *only* the stitching areas and diluted 1/2 with water for the rest. Overall, the suede texture is a "gone-er" but it's not patent-y either (it's an *interesting* surface - I'm pretty happy overall)If I did this again (probably will), I'd not use a wool dauber near the edges - I'd use the same teeny eyeshadow brush I used when dying near the edges.Bottom line: very impressed at the lack of dye Xfer after use & making the thread black.

This stuff really works!
I bought a used saddle that had been dyed black but not sealed. You couldn’t handle it without getting black hands. I cleaned it 2 times with an aggressive cleaned then sealed it with this product. Problem solved and the leather is so soft now.

Works great
First time I used the black. Matched with pro dye works very well. I did two lighter coats.
