The Best Coffee and its about 25 Cents or Less a Cup OOPs Make the 35 Cents!!
As many now know Sara Lee has sold their beverage business and ceased making this fine product....such a shameWe been drinking the dark roast Senseo Coffee for several years and it never disappoints. The flavor, aroma and wonderful crema of this coffee easily compares to those coffees from coffee shops. It is easy to use and Amazon makes it easy to buy...with subscribe and save we get the six pack for less than 25 cnets a cup (actully 21 cents). That's good coffee and good value. We recommend this coffee without reservation.Update February 1, 2012After corporate buyouts, manufacturer sourcing changes and packaging updates it seems that this great product is once again available on a regular basis...albeit at a 50% increase in price over previous shipments. The 6 count box of 18 pod packages used to sell for around 19-25 dollars depending on if you opted for auto-delivery and quarterly specials. Now at 36 per carton of 6 that breaks down to about 33 cents per cup a 45 to 50 percent increase in price...still a bargain over the plastic packaged K-cups and in my opinion a more flavorful cup of coffee.

I hope they don't sell out to Melita completely
I'm going to try this, hoping it is the same good coffee we've been buying for years - ever since the Senseo machine came out. We used to buy these pods at Walmart but now they sell something that says Senseo on it and Dark Roast etc. but It's a "Melita" brand and it's awful. Really awful. Some people on here say the Keurig is better but don't believe it. Plus, compare the price of using all of those Keurig "pods."There is another single serving coffee maker (Hamilton Beach) where you put your own coffee into a strainer receptical and it makes an 8-10 ounce cup of coffee that is as good as any drip coffee but you don't have to heat water, use paper filters, etc. We have one of those too.We also have a Pavoni Espresso machine ~$1,000. But it's a lot of work. Our favorite is still the Senseo with the original Dark Roast Coffee pods. If they stop selling these, our two senseo machines will go to the Goodwill store. One additional comment: After writing this review, I was going to order a box of six packages of Senseo Dark Roast Coffee as I have before. The price was $29 and some cents but with shipping it ws over $35 so I didn't order. Amazon says orders over $25 ship free but apparently not unless it's very small or you are a Premium member. So it might mean we will give up our Senseo because we can't buy it locally anymore. I refuse to pay 25-50 cents for a cup of coffee at home (as with Senseo+shipping or Keurig or other "pod" systems) when I can make a great cup with my own premium beans from Costco for about 2 cents with my Hamilton Beach single cup system. And this simple system makes hot water for tea or coffee with your own ground coffee in about 3 minutes and it cost about $60. I don't know why people buy these Keurig or other systems (Nestles has had this pod system in Europe for 20 years or more). Have you ever figured out what you're paying for each cup?

(It was soooo good!!
Pleasant...relaxing... and exactly what I want! I'm 73 and retired and quit coffee for several years because I quit smoking,(Pall Mall unfiltered for over 45 years), it was a trigger for smoking! When I started drinking coffee again, (It was soooo good!!!) I wanted a single cup coffee maker, so I wouldn't waste so much!!! Most were to damned expensive, then my older cousin moved and gave me the Senseo single cup brewer (undoubtedly regifted) and I loved it!!! I couldn't find any place that sold Senseo pods and almost gave up! Then one day I was looking at all the coffee's at Walmart and saw Melitta that worked in Senseo brewers....was somewhat happy, but wasn't quite the flavor that I wanted,, but it was convienient! Then Walmart didn't sell them anymore!!!???.Wrote Melitta headquarters in Florida and they didn't understand my letter and I was a little miffed! Then I looked up Senseo on my computer and found YOU!!! I drink one to three or four cups per day...sometimes none!!! Love the dark roast (French roast) Senseo, it is much better tasting than Melitta! (And I don't think that it's in my mind!) So don't tell me if it's the same, just different packaging!!! I will continue to purchase the pods on line, unless I find a supplier within 40 miles of Streator Thanks....your easy and so good! One of these days I'm going to try some of your other roasts..

These were the best when this was the name of the game.
Senseo coffee pods were the name of the game. Coffee tasted great and there was little waste. Good While it lasted.

The crema is key
Senseo continues to produce the best single serve coffee I've found and my husband and I have really searched around. Too bad someone isn't continuing to produce Senseo machines because they are like having gold right now. Much better than Keurig because a Senseo dark roast pod in a Senseo machine makes coffee with a crema that is like the ones you pay $6 or more for a cup in a good coffee house. Can't get this crème or taste on a Keurig. My $600 Nespresso comes close but still it's not the same. I don't know about all of the Senseo products, but the dark roast tastes great, and is convenient to make with good pricing. Don't get fooled by those folks who purport to put out the same product under a different name. I am talking about Dark Roast Senseo coffee pods in a Senseo machine. Can't be beat.
