Actually, better product than I expected. I expected okay, but it's really pro quality. I've worked on worse drafting boards in school.

I have been drafting and drawing up plans for the past 30 years and this product is one of the best things I have come across. I used to have a full size drafting board before I got married. Space constraints required me to give up the luxury of a full size drafting board. I am really glad I found this board because it allows me to continue to make drawings without the need for a standard size drawing surface. The board itself is well constructed and I like the ability to prop it on the edge of a table or desk to bring it closer to you is nice. Gripping it at the edges and moving it about make me a little uneasy with the cables on the back side but it seems to hold its accuracy just fine. The cross bar stays pretty much parallel and the ability to lift it off of you drawing when moving it greatly reduces smudging and paper tear. I am really impressed with this product and highly recommend it to any aspiring or space restricted draftsman.

Don’t buy for drafting!!!!!! The parallel rule does not stay straight whatsoever. Completely useless for drafting if that’s your purpose. Otherwise fine as a drawing table.

This board works well, and I was very impressed that I could buy it used from Amazon Warehouse Deals for 1/3 of what it costs at my local art store, in new condition. The box was a little bit beaten up, and the hardware on the board appears to be a previous generation, compared to the hardware on the boards at my local store, but otherwise everything is there, in perfect condition, and the straightedge adjusts very easily.The 18"x24" size is perfect for my current needs. I am learning watercolor--most easels have too steep a slope, even at the minimum setting. I always wanted a full size drafting table, but I have found that this board is perfect and allows me to use a regular desk/table for multiple purposes. It's very well made and the surface is smooth and clean. I'm happy with this purchase.

I like this because it is lightweight, yet sturdy. I bought it for my daughter, so she could finish her drafting assignments at home. The attached straight edge is a nice feature. It is not perfectly level, but as long as you align your paper to it properly, that shouldn’t matter. So far she has enjoyed using this drafting table. Two things I would recommend purchasing for it is a protective case and a surface mat.

Given the price point and the one star review below I expected the product to be stiff and somewhat difficult to use. Nothing could be further from my experience. It took less than 5 minutes to go from never having used a drafting table to becoming comforatble with how to set up and use this board.As a general drawing surface with a parallel edge, it functions well. It is easy to set up and can grip the edge of the table to extend the available real estate on a desk and move the surface to a more comfortable position for drawing.While I can imagine that there are boards where the moving parts are smoother, it's hard to imagine any in this price range. I suspect that the torn sheets mentioned in the poor review here were due to not gentely lifting the straight edge up before sliding it. In any case, I think it's a great product, especially for a newbie like me.

The design of the parallel bar doesn’t not function well for drafting.the bar needs to stay parallel all the time so that the drawings can be accurate. It shifts easily and when it’s time to move it up or down it does not stay even.

Christmas present for an aspiring architect. Its super portable and extremely high quality for the price. Highly recommended.

I have taken a few technical drawing classes and needed something to speed up the process of creating new drawing. I am a cabinet maker and custom builder who needs quality with percussion. This thing is very simple and working perfect. Now I can create drawing for clients must faster and easier with greater accuracy. This is perfect for any professional.

I used this for my hand drafting class and had to carry it from my dorm to class everyday. Many of my classmates got a bigger one that made it difficult to carry between the dorm and the class but this size was much more manageable even though you have to give up some drafting space. If you don’t plan on transporting it to much it might be worth it to go ahead and get a bigger one.

This is a good board, however the description says made in USA, when the front of the box says made in china, I was very unhappy about this. That aside, the board is nice and parallel bar seems to stay true, however, after a little use you'll notice that the edge of the bar really isn't dressed the way it should be, this isn't an issue for drawing, but it does tend to catch the tape or drafting dots holding your paper down, this little detail is annoying, and if you don't pay attention could totally ruin your work.

It’s a terrible product. From the first day I’ve had problem with adjusting the straight edge. Finally I had to return that. Beside that I think they sent me a used one.

Item is exactly as picture. I dislike, it was said that I sign and received package, a day before actual arrival. But I like that I contact seller thru. e-mail, and I received package, in a couple of hours after.

Good board made by a good company bought from a good company. It is a good portable table suitable for architectural drawings or any drawings that need parallel lines. I used a similar board in school & bought this for my nephew to teach him drafting. If you are not familiar with how a parallel edge board works you must know that after you set the rule straight you must be careful with the cables on the back of the board. If you pull on the cables it is easy enough to reset & tighten the parallel rule straight again. Most of my architectural supplies are made by Alvin & I found Alvin to be a reliable, accurate & trusted company, as I have used their products for close to 20 years. I recommend you buy an adjustable triangle, some drafting dots or masking tape, a pencil, a scale ruler & an eraser.
