The Salt Stick pills are large but easily split or ground for easier consumption. I am a cancer patient patient who is dependent upon a G-tube for my nutritional and hydration needs and initially, due to chemoradiation and other medication effecs. I had trouble maintaining proper electrolyte balance particularly Na+ and K+. I've tried other liquid electrolyte supplements added to my daily feeding mixtures with mixed results. I began taking 3 Salt Stick tablets/day which I grind and add to my morning, early afternoon, and evening tube feedings. I have bi-weekly complete metabolic panels prior to receiving chemo.Prior to using this supplement, my electrolyte balance/anion gap were often abnormal with low Na+, K+, Mg+. Use of this supplement and proper hydration restored them to normal.I rated the product 4 stars because the large size of the tablets make them difficult to swallow for children, women and the elderly.

My favorite for after-bike-ride leg cramps. Two after a long ride and no muscle cramps. Highly recommend. (I've been a physician for 45 years and frequently told my patients to get this for their muscle cramps.)

I have a helpful tip to share, but first, let me say this supplement made a huge difference during my recent four-day water fast! Typically, I feel pretty nauseous—especially on day two. On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being extremely nauseous), day two is usually about an 8 for me. But while taking this, day two discomfort dropped to about a 2 or 3—totally manageable!Now for the tip: If you’re water fasting, try removing the powder from the capsule. I took about a third of the powder, put it directly in my mouth, and washed it down with water. It just tasted salty, which I enjoyed while fasting. I repeated this twice more throughout the day to get the full daily dose. It curbs the feeling for hunger, so I took it whenever I was feel the most hungry.Hope this helps someone else!
