ALMOST GAVE IT 5 STARS!
This device works well, and as described, with a few exceptions..The instruction manual is quite small and the print font is as small as anything I've ever read. Perhaps I could go online and read the directions on a full size page, but no time for that nonsense. The instructions need to be read and understood in order to get the audio to correctly accompany the video. It is a true matrix, meaning that either or both destinations (two 65" TVs in my case) can watch any of four different sources (Sat TV, PS4, and Apple TV in my case) at the same time.I had to add a signal booster for the Apple TV output before the matrix in order to get the signal to go through a 100" HDMI cable (to the remote TV). If the long HDMI cable was not needed, I would not have needed the booster. I proved this with a second Matrix that feeds a local TV and a remote TV via a 50' HDMI cable.Another reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the signal momentarily goes completely off when the output to either TV is changed. This is disconcerting, but eventually you get used to it. The problem is that I sometimes forget to warn viewers that both TVs are going to go black for a few seconds when the output selection is changed.Overall, a good prosumer choice, and I have two of these that are working very well.

Quirky but works as advertised
I'm surprised at the some of the reviews I've read on this device. As far as I can tell this HDMI splitter operates exactly as advertised. I'm sure I have the same issue as other people when it comes to multiple HDMI sources and screens. Simply put, A TV in the living room and another in the kitchen. No need to pay a monthly fee to put a satellite box on every television. Initially I had a cheaper splitter that sent satellite signals to both TV's and that was it. It was the same signal on each TV from 1 input. After 1 year the simple splitter began to overheat when left on for extended periods and would start to lose signals on 1 or both screens, it was replaced with this. The reason I like this is the ability to send a different output to each TV at the same time. My setup includes a Satelite box, an AppleTV, a Roku, and a chromecast. Two outputs with the main TV and audio receiver in the living room and another TV in the kitchen. The 1st of two outputs includes both 1/8th inch and optical audio outputs which I use with our surround sound system. The box does not convert any audio signals, it simply passes the source audio from HDMI to the other outputs. The quirky part....When you turn on or off either of the outputs or change any settings, the signal cuts out for a few seconds from all sources. This annoys some of people from other reviews but doesn't bother me. It pays to be considerate and wait for the right moment to make changes, like commercials. When you turn on the optical or 1/8th inch audio outputs you also have to set the type of audio, example 2 channel or 5.1 surround. If output audio setting for optical doesn't match the input source, that can result in no sound from either of the audio outputs.Additionally, when watching the same thing on two TV's in close proximity, I have an echo that I didn't have with my cheap splitter. This is a feature rich splitter a reasonable price but requires some care when using all of the audio features.I still give it 5 stars even though it's not perfect, I knew some of the limitations from reading other reviews. It does exactly what I want and I can live with the quirks. Some report overheating but I haven't found that to be the case yet.

Not 4k hdcp 2.2, 4k switch?????
connecting roku 4 with amazon basics hdmi 4k cable to 4k tv. NO GO! cannot get 4k to work with advertised switch that says it can handle 4k. for the record: direct connect roku with tv and i can get and see 4k content; put switch in the middle connectivity and best i can do is 1080p. see pix. :-( it works great for 1080p and toslink works good and you do have 2-3 second drop of visuals when your switching to different ports, all as expected. BUT no 4k. if u want ti use with 4k, NOPE! vendor/manufacture should be specific under what situation this switch is 4k able. cautiously recommend product.

Lots of features, no HDCP support
I purchased this to switch a PS3, PS4, XBox One, XBox 360, and a mini PC (Intel NUC) to a 4K HDTV and another 720p native monitor capable of doing 1080i. So it's a good test of signals. I'm happy to say the game consoles, especially the older ones like XBox 360 and PS3, did auto detect and adjust to HDTV at 1080i on both just fine. The 4K display from my mini PC is detected and shown. However, the minute I go to browser the screen starts to blank and reappear. Sometimes once a minute, sometimes continuously on/off for few minutes!!! this drives me crazy! After research it appears the likely cause is support for HDCP pass-thru. This switch, from web descriptions, appears to not handle that. So this means hooking up a PC to HDTV via this switch is not going make you happy. For 4K, only 30Hz will be supported since it's not HDMI 2.0In a nutshell, I do like all the cool features including ARC (can be turned off), Optical audio and analog audio thru 3.5mm socket. Switching from 4 inputs to 2 outputs, and share same inputs on both outputs are cool and seem to work good. However, if you don't have PC as a source, then it may not be compatible due to no HDCP pass-thru capability.

Good while it lasted
This worked well for 3 or 4 months then the audio out through the optical connection started cutting out intermittently then entirely.
