Hicarer Pendulum Clock Movement Quartz DIY Movement Kits Replacement Pendulum Clock Movement Mechanism (Shaft Length 0.79 Inch)

My old wind up clock finally packed up so I bought this kit to keep the cabinet alive. Fiddled around getting the spacing right so the spindle was positioned correctly. I used stiff card layers to get it right. Trimmed ends of hands with scissors to perfect length. Put it all together and it works! Better time keeping than the old mechanism, though this has no "soul". The old pendulum works perfectly. All it lacks is a nice big tick! Obviously with quartz units you need to be able to get to it from the back to load batteries or adjust time, so make sure your clock has a back door or be prepared to cut a hole as I did.

The replacement clock mechanism, saved an old time piece, from going to the dump. The old mechanism stopped working, after a battery leak, finally decided to buy a clock mechanism, and attempted to get it working. The mechanism was the same size, and shape as the original mechanism. EXCEPT for the shaft, 0.79 inch. The shaft length is critical (measure before buying), especially where the clock face is enclosed, with a glass/plastic front. If the shaft is too long, you will not be able to fit the mechanism, as the shaft will hit the glass front, I HAD that problem, however, I managed to pack it out, by sandwiching a electrical, PVC grommet, between the back of the clock, and the new mechanism, then screwed it down as normal, with the nut provided. The mechanism requires 1 AA battery (not provided), the pendulum part is an attachment, for your pendulum, it is purely for decorative purposes only, and provides no other function (the pendulum will just dangle there, lifeless, like most things in my life). The widest part inside of my clock (the white face), is 9 inches, I have provided a photo, so that you judge, what the hands may look like, inside your clock face. Very pleased with the clock refurbishment, the hands provided, are very attractive, they compliment the Roman numeral, however, I don't think I'll be worrying the Swiss clock making fraternity........ too much! Addendum: I moved the clock (9th Aug. 2020), so I could clean the wallpaper, the clock swaying in my hand, must have started a reaction, to get the pendulum swinging, the pendulum is clearly swinging from left to right, the clock now looking like an expensive timepiece. Very pleased with the replacement mechanism, even if the pendulum never worked.

From the photos I thought that there would be a pendulum with the kit. Turned out not to be the case, so I had to buy ne separately, which lowers the value for money. Other than that, good movement, keeps pretty good time.

When a wedding present went faulty, do you throw away or repair? Found a replacement mechanism on line and made a good repair. Would have been 5 stars if a chioce of hands had been included, as I would have been able to retain the original look of the old clock.

It was almost easy to install. The minute hand should fit on the shaft nicely but the metal was a bit burred which meant I had to try and get rid of that to fit it. It is fine but then I bent the hand and had to try and make it flat again. It works great. Very happy. Would be five stars but that tiny little mistake that was fixable

Die Uhr von meinem Vater ist wohl etwas kleiner wie gewöhnlich. Obwohl ich schon darauf geachtet habe das die Zeiger nicht zu lang sind müsste ich sie noch etwas Kürzen. Die Zeigewelle kommt auch schon bald an die Scheibe der Uhr. Das Pendel habe ich auch etwas gekürzt das es beim Pendeln schon an die Seitenwände kam. Ich denke mit dem Ergebnis wird mein Vater zufrieden sein.

Perfetto!!!! Va che è una bomba...messo ad un vecchio orologio thun ma ancora bellissimo e funziiona alla grande....qualche piccolo problema con le lancette ( troppo lunghe ma con le forbicine le ho modificate ed ora è tornato meglio di prima...grande Amazon...... Stefano
