Very Good, but Quality Has Declined.
Like most people here, I like to purchase tools made in the U.S.A. I've also had very good luck with German-made tools like Knipex, Wera, etc., and Hakko-branded CHP made in Italy for electrical work. While I LOVE that Klein is still made in the U.S., the durability isn't what it used to be... which I suppose I understand if they want to keep it at this price point. This newer model I used for a maybe 10 minutes a week and it lasted about ~4 years to the point where it doesn't work at all. The older model is over 20 years old I believe and it still cuts fairly well. Not as well as a fresh new sharp one but it's still serviceable. I had some of the uncurved Hakko strippers and those went even faster, maybe 2-3 years of light but regular use.I'd say for the price the ergonomics, fit, and finish are excellent. Personally I'd spend $50-60 on something that I wouldn't have to toss every 4 years though. Unfortunately Knipex doesn't make traditional wire strippers than handle above 20 gauge, so while not as attractive or ergonomic, the Hakko CHP CSP-30-1 seems to hold a sharper edge better than this new model. It gets the same amount of use and it's still in really excellent shape after 3+ years use. I will say that I prefer the hand-feel of the Klein for stripping a jacket.TL;DR: This is still a solid, ergonomic wire stripper that's made in the U.S.A., just not as durable as it used to be, and the Hakko CHP made in Italy will last longer despite being less ergonomic.
