Kind LED Grow Lights K3 L300

I ordered this light to fix my heat problem and cut back on electricity consumption. After replacing my 400 watt H.I.D. with this light I was able to remove the intake fan, the exhaust fan, the fan to cool my light and the AIR CONDITIONER. After doing so my temps dropped 8 degrees. I couldn't believe it awesome. I am growing in a 2x4 tent and to get results that good is amazing. With my 400 watt H.I.D. system I tried everything to fight the temps obviously, with all the fans and an A.C.. So far I have just started running the light and I could not be happier, runs cool, quiet and my plants seem to be doing well. After I harvest this batch off of the light I will be back to give a full review. I don't know what my energy bill will drop to but only drawing half the power from the light and getting rid of everything else its bound to be far less than half. So far so good I love this light so happy I purchased. The price is up there but being able to do without all of that equipment and replacing H.P.S. M.H. lights all the time it pays for itself. Great investment. Also very important AVOID FLORAHYDROPONICS I first purchased from them but after screwing me around for a week and not getting anything I purchased again from GROWERSHOUSE and they have awesome customer service, even sent me a thank you note including a free 1 year membership and a discount on all of my future orders. Not affiliated with them just had to throw in my buying experience to save you the time a trouble.

Since you are going to end up tossing this in the trash save your money and buy the cheaper more reliable lights from China. There are no replacement parts available through the company (Kind LED). I will have to make my own. I will gut this one and replace them with quality Chinese parts instead of poor American made garbage.

Look at the newer Kind K3 Series 2 XL300. It's half the price. This model is no longer manufactured.

Application: used in grow tent to overwinter mature super hot chili plant(s) in soil. Cycle is 11/13, 30" from plant, with a 6" clip-on fan for circulation. While significantly cooler than HID, some heat is generated from the unit, likely from the cooling fans/heat sinks, requiring some means of ventilating it out; again, applied within a small grow tent environment. Unlike HID/HPS, for whatever reason, peppers go from green to deep reddish brown as if ripening is hastened. Not sure what to think of this, yet. Overall, it works, produces seemingly healthy plants ("seemingly" only because of said ripening sequence), is lower maintenance (no cooling vents, bulb replacement, etc.) and energy efficient.

So far my this light has exceeded my expectations, plants are growing strong and healthy. I am using the 300w in a 3x3 tent with 4 plants. There is plenty of light coverage and minimal heat from this unit. With a 3 year warranty and 90 day grow guarantee you can go wrong. When looking at PAR, lumens, spectrum, Kind is on top.

I only got 1 run out of this before an LED died. This thing is a PITA to open and service. Got the LED replaced, was setting up for 2nd use and noticed one of the fans were no running. Opened it up and its running 4 cheap non-ball bearing fans. So ordered 4 new ball-bearing fans from Amazon. But also ordered HIGROW 1500W Double Chips LED Grow Light Full Spectrum Grow Lamp as a 'back-up' but will most likely run that as the main lamp. Kind= $450, HIGROW=$150. Same specktrum almost same power(HIGROW is a little more) and they look like same stuff, chinese components thrown in a metal box. Kind looks more premium, better branded,and have a great website. HIGROW has nothing, but the thing should work just as good as the Kind

Well a little expensive wouldn't be bad if this model had the timer and dimmed down like sunlight dusk/dawn.

I haven't had this light long enough to write a thorough review, I will update this after a few months of use. I will mention that the Kind LED grow light was named best light for 2013. I will say it runs quite cool compared to the high intensity lights they replace.
