DEVOURED IN A DAY
This book is so much more than what you think it will be. Not a bunch of warmed-over Harvey Weinstein, but a fascinating and even thrilling tale of breaking the HW story. Deeply personal, it delves satisfyingly into so many related issues. The Christine Blasey Ford sections, in particular, were terrific. A page turner that will have you thinking about the BIG issues.

Journalism at its Best
I read this book in one day over two sittings. This was a tremendous feat of journalism and reminds us of the importance of a free press. The authors spent 3 years on this story beginning with the women Trump abused, the long history of abuse by Weinstein and finally the Blasey/Kavanaugh incident. The bulk of the book covers the Weinstein investigation. The women had to identify victims and get them to speak up. But ultimately the needed to get corroboration and documentation from within the Weinstein organization. Fortunately they found the insider who was outraged enough by Weinstein's behavior to provide the documentation the authors needed to publish their original NY Times article. Kudos to the authors and all the people who put themselves out there to do the right thing. I look forward to seeing this book on Best Seller lists very quickly.

A difficult book to read
I expected to be difficult to read after all the stories. This a well written book by the authors. The courage of the authors and The New York Times demonstrated in this story gives me hope. Because it is well written and organized I could not put it down

A game-changer and must read.
Having followed this story as a NYT subscriber, I doubted there was much more to offer. I could not have been more wrong. The classic “story behind the story” is revealed here and is as compelling as the headline itself. The authors waste no time and breathlessly narrate the story with no effort and characters that are other-worldly.“She Said” is a breathtaking read - for many reasons. An absolute must read for the world we currently live in. The authors have done an exceptional expose on a deeply important topic.

Underwhelming
She Said is basically three stories crammed into one book. The first third is truly interesting and, at times, gripping. Megan and Jodi were instrumental in revealing the truth about Harvey Weinstein and I wish the story has stuck with that topic entirely. That said, their writing about the Weinstein saga could use some judicious editing--why print 4 full pages of Lisa Bloom's duplicitous engagement with Weinstein, who cares what it says in its entirety? Why spend so much time on David Boies and his complicity?I found their segue to Christine Blaise Ford's story to be contrived, and that section of the book is boring and too focused on Ms. Ford's PTSD and uncertainty rather than the perfidy and hubris of Brett Kavanaugh. Much more could have been written here about the steamrolling of 50 uninvestigated complaints about Kavanaugh rather than page after page of will she or won't she show up in DC to testify. The last third has some revelatory moments (Ashley Judd is amazing and I do feel for Gweneth and her survivor's guilt) but this section seems like a trite way to end a story that is long from over. All in all a decent book that could have focused solely on the endless horrors of Harvey Weinstein, much of which was well reported by Megan and Jodi.

A stunning and riveting account of Jodi and Megan’s heroic journalism which continues to change the world
I read every word on the Weinstein story and its aftermath in the New York Times and elsewhere. So I wasn’t sure I’d learn anything new in this book. Like Spotlight and All The President’s Men, “She Said” showcases the tenacity and painstaking work behind great journalism as well as the courage of the brave sources who went on the record with The New York Times to speak truth to power. A refreshing antidote to the ‘Fake News’ assault on truth era we are living through. I hope someone turns this incredible story behind the story into a movie.

Good summary of the Weinstein story
The book basically covers three topics: the Weinstein story and how it developed; the Christine BlaseyFord story (in less detail) and a wind-up section about how reporting the abuse has impacted the lives of many of the women in the book. The best part is the Weinstein story--lots of detail and insight into how a story like this gets reported. The Blasey Ford piece felt like just more of the same reporting that I'd already read. The final section didn't provide great insight. What it comes down to is that this book feels like a longer newspaper story. The facts laid out for you to consider. In book form, I'd like to see more insight and opinion. Probably not the job of the authors here.

Good and Bad
Kudos to the writers for exposing such an evil sexual predator. You can tell they struggled with taking down such an influential media executive and huge Democrat Party donor. They were fair with Mr. Weinstein, meeting him in advance to hear his side of the story before they published the sordid allegations against him.Unfortunately the authors did not provide the same courtesy to Justice Kavanaugh in the second part of the book where they took Ms. Ford's allegations at face value. The authors seem incredulous that some accuse the left of "borking" Justice Kavanaugh as they did all Republican nominated judges since Robert Bork.Ms. Ford is portrayed as a gentile soul afraid of flying so "someone" provided a private jet for her to fly from California to Washingtion DC. The day of the hearing a hairdresser "materialized" to fix her hair. Someone showed up with 11 different suits for her to choose from for her appearance at the hearing. If I flew to Washington for a hearing I would have bought my own ticket, combed my own hair, ubered to the hotel, and brought my own clothes.Since the authors take credit for taking down Mr. Weinstein and starting the ME TOO movement, it must have been their arrogance that they could unfairly smear Justice Kavanaugh in a continuation of the "I've been BORKED TOO" movement.

A must read for both genders
Wow, just wow. What a book. Having seen the two journalists do an interview, I thought I'd give the book a read as it could be interesting. I haven't been able to put it down. I'm not normally a fan of non fiction but this was enthralling. I, like everyone else saw the newspaper and social media reporting about Weinstein and the #metoo movement and, as a woman, knew this behaviour was pervasive but the scariest takeaway from the book was how much companies and people covered up these individuals behaviours. The painstaking detail and care shown by the authors in piecing everything together was told in a really engaging way. I'd advise everyone should read this book, not only because it's a great read but to really think about the issues in our society.

Pursuing a monster hiding in plain sight
This is the story of the two New York Times journalists who uncovered Harvey Weinstein’s decades of sexual predation, told in the third person. It’s effectively a companion piece to Ronan Farrow’s account of his Weinstein probe in Catch and Kill. Farrow’s book was written in the first person and had a greater sense of immediacy and driving narrative. She Said doesn’t explore the backgrounds of the reporters in any depth, and arguably the third-person narration has a distancing effect. That said, it’s a remarkable story; perhaps the best scene sees Weinstein himself turning up at the NYT offices in a final, failed bid to crush the story. She Said is much more concerned than Farrow’s book with the political and social consequences of the investigation, as the Me Too movement claimed a succession of scalps in a range of industries. Halfway through, it pivots to examine the story of Dr Christine Blasey Ford, who accused Brett Kavanaugh, Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, of sexually assaulting her while drunk at high school. Not as successful as Farrow’s book, and written less engagingly, but still a vital read for anyone who wants to unpick how Weinstein evaded detection for so long, and how Press scrutiny led to his spectacular downfall.

A must read!
Riveting! One of the best books I’ve read in a while. Superb research. Shocking detail around how wrong doing is covered up and what money can buy in terms of deception. A must read for everyone who wonders how people get away with horrible behaviour.

An Interesting Read
Having read Ronan Farrow catch and kill on Harvey Weinstein this popped up as a recommended item. I downloaded it and carried on with my day.Almost a month later (it was Christmas after all) I decided to sit down and give the book a try. I didn't have great expectations having never read any articles by the authors due to living in the UK.I finished it in two days. I could not put it down. From the first voice to the last these women have shown strength and grace in the line of fire.I had some knowledge of Paltrow being a victim of Weinstein but I had no idea how involved she was in getting this story told.I also found myself drawn to Christine Blasey Ford as she was relatable, down to Earth and showed true courage in her testimony. I hope that life treats her well further down the road.

Incredible read
Incredible book and an incredibly important read. If you want to understand the complexities of smashing open a scandal like the Weinstein one then read this book. It brilliantly lays bare the complex inequalities of a gender power imbalance - and how abuse of said this was so often overlooked, or considered to be part of life.
