Works for zero lag 240p !
If you've gone down the rabbit hole trying to get a pc to output 240p or similar low res signals for emulation, this is what you need. Using INTEL HD graphics on a laptop with mini displayport output, I was able to use a mini DP to HDMI cable to go directly into this converter (technically transcoder) and then into a Sony KV-27FS120 standard def set.It took some time to find a sweet spot beteen custom resolution utility, and display settings , but it definitely works. And although it's not technically 240p, having to use a "super resolution" the results are up there with hood RGB modded sets and PVMS.

480i does not work
Does not work with a 5080 to a Sony trinitron crt at 480i. I get audio but a doubled image in black and white. Does not work with 480i.

Don’t Cry Over Lost HDMI
My aging television has slowly been going blind on the HDMI ports for some time, so when my final HDMI port failed, I wasn’t going to let this old television go to waste. I paid good money for it last decade, and I wasn’t going to let a few failed HDMI ports sour my view on the tv screen. Luckily, my TV has a component connection, from the early days of “high-definition.” Naturally, I came to Amazon for a device that could change the modern HDMI signal of my fire stick into the ancient signals of past displays. As can be seen from the accompanying picture, the device successfully competed the job, and the tv recognizes full 1080 resolution. All that to say, I would recommend this device. Also, the antique component cables are sold separately (but I’m sure we all have one stashed away in a cord box from the 2000s, as I myself did).

Not Compatible with Mitsubishi V21, V21+, and V21++ Rear Projection TVs
Mitsubishi V21, V21+, and V21++ Rear Projection TVs include models WS-48511, WS-55511, WS-55711, WS-65511, WS-65611, WS-65711, WS-65712, WS-73711, and WS-B55. The above models all have the identical input circuits, so they should likely function identically to my model WS-55511. I also tested the converter unit using a Samsung flat screen TV driven by a Surface Pro 6, and the converter functioned well on every resolution that I selected. I provided a rating of four stars to reflect the lack of compatibility. However, the seller was excellent in resolving the problem. They immediately sent me a newer model that was compatible. Accordingly I also provided a five-star review for that model.

Brilliant HDMI converter
This converter is brilliant, to convert HDMI to Component for older projectors. The quality stay the same, the as long as you go in 1080i and 1080i output. 10 out of 10 for me

Not Made For Gaming (Or Lag Testing)
I bought this to test latency through the RetroTink 5x with the Time Sleuth. I was very disappointed to find out this adds a rolling latency from 34 milliseconds to 16 milliseconds. My understanding was that the Portta version (not available anymore) added 3 milliseconds, which would be much more manageable if using on a CRT or for lag testing. For reference, I was able to output 480i to a CRT, but not 240p. The 1-2 frames of latency might not matter to some, but for me is a no go.

Have a Chromecast or Firestick? Check this review ✅
Ok, I searched all of amazon over the course of a few days trying to find something, ANYTHING that would breathe some life back into my TV. There are a million products on amazon and it seems that many don't work with a Chromecast or Firestick. This one does! What does my setup look like? I am using an older 40"? Sceptre HDTV. If you're looking to use this product on something without hdmi ports, it may not work for you. I can only speak to a TV that does have hdmi ports. So if your TV has hdmi ports but they are all taken up or not functioning, this will probably work for you.I tested the adapter with both a Chromecast and Firestick, and they both worked without any issues. It's even showing up in 1080p (not sure about other resolutions, e.g., 1080i, 720p, etc.).

Save the hassle and buy a new tv!
This product only shows a scrambled picture. Tried it on 2 different tvs. Never got it to work with newer style cable boxes.
