30 & 5 Minute Gravity Hourglasses - Time Management Set - Deep Black & Snow White

I usually use my phone timer to get focused on completing a task. However, I always keep checking the time and watch the timer count down which on its own was distracting. So I thought I would look in to another way to master time management and I ran in to this product. This was a great idea. Just flip the hour glass and work on your project- I am no longer so obsessed how much time is left on the clock.The hour glasses are also aesthetically pleasing. They look so elegant on my work space. I read the review where it said the items had some cracks when they arrived. I was worried about that as well, and when I got the item it looked like it did have some cracks. But I realized when I cleaned it that it was just the strings from the styrofoam packaging and not cracks.All in all I am pleased with the products functionality and look.

I have been looking for an hourglass for a while. I had a gorgeous sand timer from Pottery Barn that unfortunately shattered in less than a week with a smallest of impacts and I have been looking for a replacement ever since. The majority of hourglass I saw have a wooden base and they did not go well with my furniture at all. This particular 30*5 minutes hourglass is attractive, chic and functional. I bought the white and black one and the aesthetics are really pleasing to the eye. I have also tested both of the sand clock with timers for accuracy and found them to be accurate for the 30 and 5 minutes.The concept behind this is interesting. I use this most when I feel that I am out of focus and I need to hold myself accountable without having to distract myself with phone timers and other gadgets that would distract me. I am always pleased to see that I spent on a work task more than 30 minutes without being reminded that I have to "end" the task now.Because my Pottery Barn one shattered in less than a week, I was slightly worried that I might break these. The glass here looks like a sturdy quality, I don't know if it could be sturdier without jeopardizing the overall look of the product. But I have to be careful with them when I turn them all the time and put them away if there are kids around because I do not want to risk it. After all the price point is not very cheap.In lazy days I use them for 30 mins play and 5 mins work! haha! This is a really good concept and very chic. It sits well in my living room and have already gotten a ton of complements on it. I have owned it for around three months now and I am satisfied with it. I hope you find this review helpful. :-)

I got these to let my toddler know when it's nearing bed time and for time ins. The black one is a half an hour, we flip it and he has a visible reminder that his bedtime is nearing. The white one is 5 minutes. We use this one to have some quiet time to calm down and we flip it again and talk about how we could have done things differently and had a better outcome. Then we flip it again and talk about fun and positive things and end with a hug. I can't speak to absolute accuracy on these, we don't really time things for precision we're just trying to teach our pre-k about limits so for us, this works great!

Great idea but not happy with the quality. Feels cheap and unbalanced and they had marks all over them.Even replaced them and the 2nd set had the same.

This item is very good looking and attractive. The glass it is made of is much too thin and delicate however. One tiny tap by a glass bottle and now there's a huge crack in it. Unless you plan to use them as decoration and not allow anyone to touch them, I'd highly recommend against buying this product.

Nice looking, but like others have mentioned they break very easily. The large (black one) shattered within a day of having it.

I purchased this set as a way for my toddler to understand how long he needed to stay in bed for "rest time". Instead of trying to mark a clock, this has given him a definite way to understand time; when the top is empty, you can get out of bed! It's really lightened the stress of our nap arguments about how much time is left. My son loves how beautiful they are.**NOTE** The hourglass is definitely glass, so I always put it our of reach, but still within sight.I also love that the sand in the larger hourglass is matte black and the sand in the smaller hourglass is sparkly white.

A terrific and elegant product. I use it while studying for my exam or when I am coaching my basketball team for drills. The 5-30 Play-Do Routine is not only practical, it assists with focus during work time while emphasizing the importance of breaks and relaxation during the work day. The design recalls a more simpler time but also the beauty and effectiveness of the past for this new age world.
