Absolutely love my pen, this is the 4th one I have gotten

I used to have a fountain pen and loved it. I finally got myself this highly recommended pen and am very happy with it. I’m using it for my morning pages, and I may put black permanent ink in it with the plunger/adapter I got separately, for drawing. Have fun!

What can I say my first fountain pen was a Lamy. I remember receiving the pen and thinking that fountain pens were to difficult were for uppity people who were all about the looks. Boy was I ever wrong. Years later when I found that first Lamy collecting dust and used it I understood the love.Fountain pens are for people who enjoying writing. The Lamy Safari Fountain pen is an entry level affordable pen that will make you fall in love with your writing even if its chicken scratch (like me). The Lamy fountain pen is also for people who are all about a sustainable eco system (yeah I know not something that comes up in stationary communities) but I like the fact that I have an option between bottled ink and cartdriges and I don't have to feel bad about adding to waste in the world.Buy this pen for yourself, when you fall in love with it buy one for all the people who will want to steal it! :)

I love writing with fountain pens, especially if the nib provides smooth flow of the ink without any scratchiness or drag; changing ink colors makes journaling and letter writing a "colorful" endeavor and just plain fun. I was a bit hesitant to order this pen based on some of the reviews, but am I glad I went with it. The pink casing caught my eye and now that pen is in hand, I find it quite comfortable to hold with and without the cap posted. Since I have RA I prefer a more solid pen rather than slim, but the larger diameter usually means more weight. Not with the Lamy Safari. It's the perfect diameter, it's weight balance is perfect in my book, and the ergonomic hold is perfection. And, I didn't break the bank. I use both cartridges and the adaptor, which is my favorite option. J. Herbin'so Rose Cyclamen ink matches the pen and is my favorite color, while flowing beautifully through the medium nib with a fairly rapid drying time. I think I'll be returning for more colors.

I was unexpectedly disappointed in this pen after having read so many positive customer reviews about Lamy pens. I have several heavier fountain pens at home but I wanted something lighter and narrower for an every day pen at school. I like the design of the pen, and especially the grip. The lid fit nicely and the color was fun. Unfortunately, the slit in the feed was so poorly aligned with the air hole in the nib that despite multiple adjustments, I simply wasn't able to draw more than a couple of drops in to the converter. I'm completely accustomed to adjusting my own nibs since most pens scratch a bit more than I'd like. When I tried to draw ink the first time, I got nothing but a dry converter. After adjusting I was able to manage a few bubbly drops. That's when I examined the alignment. Had this pen been properly aligned, I would have kept it. I'm so glad to hear that most of you have had better experiences.

The pink is very vibrant. The ink bleeds through paper like no other pen I’ve ever used before. Do not use a bold nib fountain pen on any papers that require writing on both sides. Other than that, it works exactly as well as you would expect a $20 fountain pen to work.

Somewhat Lamy medium nibs are like fine nibs... I am a little annoyed by this, but I like the fountain pen. I have another Lamy FP (much older) and they have better finishing touches. Anyway, is Lamy and I love the color.

This is my third Lamy in my collection. I normally prefer the fine tips, however, I purchased the medium tip but mistake and I am very impressed how smooth the writing is. The tip just glides over paper without any resistance. Might have to change my fine tip pens now.

I love these pens, they write so nicely. However my most recent purchase the nib end keeps coming away from the barrel. It doesn't stay tight and affects the grip on the pen as have to keep tightening the barrel up. hence the low mark.

This is the second one bought for my daughter, first one lasted almost a year, but then she's not always the most careful so replacement more down to her than the pen! She liked it enough to want the same again so I guess that's a good recommendation. Arrived quickly and daughter all set for new school year to start!

Our granddaughter was very keen to have a pinl ink pen and this Lamy fits the bill perfectly. It is robust and well suited to being a first fountain pen.
