Works great and easy to do
Needed to reconnect my rear window defroster ('14 Suburban). I had the other one fixed by the dealer when I bought the car and they made it sound like such a big deal and it took them weeks to get the conductive epoxy they said they needed. This came quickly and was very easy to do. It's been about two months now and my rear defroster is still working great! I love that they package the wipe in such a way that you don't have to hold the chemical prep wipe in your hands. Totally worth it!

It works very good if you follow given instructions
Let me start with saying that regardless of what are some bad review, it works and it worked very nice for me! Obviously you need to take care of the surface by cleaning it. Follow the simple instructions exactly as they say, and you won’t regret this product! Applied activator after having cleaned surface and the lil connector that need to be stick to rear windshield, let it dry a while (5min), apply conductive glue to part and keep it for a 1min. It worked even though in a vertical position and gravity didn’t bother glue and was perfectly stuck! After 24h it should be fine to use, I personally waited more before using the rear windshield heater. Very nice and good product! Will add some photo, and trust me some idiot before soldered that connector and that’s why it came off and I had to clean the part with a solder to clean it properly from tin soldering residue. Anyway it was easy to use as well and functional, it’s already been 2 weeks and still fine. Will post photos.

One of 5 kits worked. Junk.
Only 1 out of 5 kits worked. I initially bought 2 kits for my 2 tabs. One bonded but the other would not and I followed instructions exactly. I ended up buying 3 more kits until I finally got the second one bonded only to find out as confirmed with my multi meter that the first one was not conducting electricity and I had checked for continuity before I glued it on and it was in a good spot. I have continuity all around the tab but it is as if the glue is not conducting. So now I have a glued tab and no defroster. This stuff is junk.

Product works, but consult full instructions
I bought this last winter when my defrost tab broke away from the grid in my '97 Civic. I am grateful to the reviewers who pointed me to the Permatex video instructions for their Complete repair kit on their website. Those video instructions give about three extra steps not included on the back of the box, but that are apparently essential to properly use the product. So, my initial step in the reparation process was to watch the instructional video several times (the tab repair portion begins about half-way through the video). The first step is to remove the tab from the wiring harness. This was not easy. I couldn't get it out with my bare hands and had to use needle nose pliers to gently pull it out. The second step is to remove the excess conductive material from the tab. The tab to my '97 Civic is not straight. The two ends that contact the defrost grid are lower than the middle portion. This made removal of the excess material tricky. I tried with sandpaper, but ultimately turned to my Dremel with a grinding bit. The tab heats up, so I ended up gently holding it with my pliers while I removed the excess conductive material. I wasn't able to remove all of the material--especially in the indentation in the middle of the tab--but since it looked like I had reached the metal of the tab on the ends, I called it good enough. The third step is to use rubbing alcohol to wipe down the surface of the tab and also the connection area of the grid. While the box instructions do not explain this, the video points out that you should not attempt to mount the tab where it was broken off--you are going to want to mount it on an area of the grid where the grid wasn't broken. The connection area for the grid of my '97 Civic is much smaller than what they show in the Permatex movie. Thus, my tab still touches slightly the area where it was broken off, but it still has enough "new" surface to make a good connection. You also don't want to place the tab too far towards the edge of the glass, because you might not be able to put the wiring harness back on if you do not leave enough space. Returning to the cleaning with rubbing alcohol step, when you rub the connection area of the grid with rubbing alcohol, you will notice that it changes to a lighter color (this is pretty clear from the video). You will want to let it dry for a few seconds. The fourth step is to use the special wipe that comes in the package to wipe down the connection area of the grid. The wipe is connected to the inside of the packet, and this step is pretty clearly shown in the Permatex instructional video. You will want to let it dry for a few minutes. I believe the video said at least two minutes, but not more than 15. I believe the box says five minutes. I waited for five minutes. The fifth step is to knead the epoxy/glue packet. I did this during the five minutes that the chemical in the previous step dried. The sixth step is to cut the packet and put a bit of the conductive epoxy on the tab. The video says to put only one drop on the tab. However, because as I explained previously, my '97 Civic tab has two raised ends, I put a drop on each end of my tab. The seventh step is to place the tab on the connection area of the grid that was prepped, first with rubbing alcohol, and then with the chemical that was allowed to dry for five minutes. Make sure that the orientation of the tab is correct (i.e., point the connecting bit of the tab towards the harness) and carefully press the tab into place. I held the tab for about a minute in place while applying uniform pressure. I also used a hair dryer to heat up the epoxy because I read that that speeds up the drying process. I kept the hair dryer on it for a few minutes, just to be sure. If you have a voltmeter, you can make sure that the connection is good at this point. The eight step is to wait for 24 hours before hooking the wiring harness back up to the tab. Et voilà! It should work. It was so nice to be able to use the rear defrost this morning. I only gave four stars because Permatex should really provide better instructions.

Fixed my Jeep Wrangler easily with this after a defroster lead tab broke off. Make sure you do this in room temp or higher or it probably won't cure. *Update* Didn't make it through the fall, let alone winter. POS. Will be looking for something different.
